The hotel was facing the marina, near to bus stops, so ideally situated. Our group had two rooms booked, both of which were lovely. One of the rooms had a dirty bathroom when we arrived, but the staff could not have been more helpful and sorted it out straight away. Getting to the fifth floor was a bit odd (2 lifts and a flight of stairs) but didn't really present a problem.
The entire staff were friendly and helpful, would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Try and get a room overlooking the marina, any room after the fourth floor needs a second elevator t...

We took a short midweek break to Palma and were really happy with the accommodation. We were given room 301 which was, as a previous reviewer says, large and comfortable with an amazingly big bathroom: big walk-in shower, shower over the bath and two hand basins. The view from the room was fabulous. We did have a balcony, too.
The hotel staff were really helpful, too. There is free wi-fi in the hotel and also free internet access in the lobby area.

We stayed at the Hotel Mirador, Palma di Majorca, for one week recently (26 Nov. to 3 Dec. 2011).
We were booked in politely and efficiently. All the reception staff speak pretty good English which is useful.
The hotel is right on the front (Paseo Maritimo 10) across the road from the marina.

The Room. We stayed in Room 301, which is very spacious, has a good sized balcony with 2 chairs and a table, and with wonderful views of the port/yacht marina directly in front and across the bay to the Old Town area of Palma and its famous Cathedral.
Our room had a really nice bathroom. It had a large 'walk-in' shower (room enough for two!), a jacuzzi style bath with another shower in it, and two wash basins (see photos); also a bidet and of course a toilet.
There was ample storage space for clothes (2 large wardrobes in the hallway which also housed a large room safe) and the room itself had two large twin beds placed together. There was also a small table and two chairs, which we found useful.
I'm happy to say that the beds/mattresses were very comfortable - not too hard - which suited me as I have a very bad back. There was a 37" TV in the room and free internet connection and writing desk. The bedside controlled lighting was also very good.

Breakfast. I have to say that the breakfast buffet was superb - one of the best I have experienced. Choices of several fruit juices, yoghourts, 6 different cereals and the full English breakfast of fried eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes etc. There were several cold meats and cheeses available as well as croissant, buns, local cakes all made in the hotel; also plates of fresh fruit (melon, kiwi fruit, sliced oranges etc.) and several types of local bread. On many days there was smoked salmon (which, for me, went nicely with the scrambled eggs).
An enormous added bonus is that one could eat breakfast outside on the large terrace with fantastic views.
All the breakfast staff were very friendly and attentive to restocking the buffet whenever necessary, as well as clearing our table as soon as debris accumulated.

As I have written, the room was excellent but there was some traffic noise especially at weekends (Fri & Sat.) . We used earplugs and we were not really disturbd by this. The traffic noise died down during the week at around 11.00pm - and as we were always up at this time, it wasn't a great problem
I would suggest for sensitive sleepers that you request a room further back, and higher up which has a lesser view but is more quiet.
Please bear in mind we went in the off season; noise would be more of a concern during the busy periods in the summer.

Further Information. A number 1 bus runs from the airport to right outside the hotel (though we decided to hire a car for the week and visit the whole island).
It's a pleasant 15 minute walk to the town centre/cathedral area, or less than 5 Euros by taxi.
We always walked back after a good meal in town - around 12-15 mins.
We found an excellent restaurant along the Paseo Miritimo, in the opposite direction to walking into town, called Mediterraneo 1930 at Paseo Maritimo 33, which has great service and lovely food and certainly not overpriced. A complimentary glass of Cava (Spanish 'Champagne') is offered and there are Pris Fixe deals for 4 courses for 25 Euros. Some very good seafood dishes.

Room Tip: Rooms 101, 201, 301, 401 are very spacious with superb bathrooms as described above. Quieter rooms...

Stayed in this hotel in september 2011. We booked one of the suites which were located on the 9th floor. The room was huge with a big balcony overlooking the marina (rom 901), beautiful! The one issue I have with this hotel is the elevators. In order to get to the 9th florr you have to take one elevator to the 4th floor, then walk up the stairs to the 5th floor. On this floor you have to take another elevator to the 8th floor and walk up the stairs to the 9th floor. This is a problem if you are dependent on an elevator and have lots of luggage.

The breakfast is really good, and the staff are nice. The staff in the reception though is somewhat more based on a Spanish service -meaning they will mostly talk to each other than you...

Still, I do definitely recommend this hotel.

The Hotel Mirador enjoys a fantastic location.
To enjoy breakfast on the terrace, which is about four floors up, with the cruise liners to the right, the cathedral to the left and the marina in front was something to look forward to every day.
It has it's own little ways but with fore knowledge one can have a wonderful time at the MIrador.
A room above the fourth floors brings in the need for the second lift and usually a walk up or down a flight of steps.
One can only get to the fifth floor when the breakfast room is open. Other times (most of the time) the first lift stops at floor four then you climb the steps to the fifth and take the second lift.
This is not good when you have your bags withn you.
Even when the breakfast room is open many people do not like to weave their luggage through the guests enjoying their meal.
We asked for a non smoking room which we got but our next room neighbours smoked out on their balcony so we soon got the smell in our room and once in, it remained.
The beds were very firm and the room did not have one drawer. The only mirror was in the bathroom and the shower was over the bath. It required a big step in and out of the shower.
Tiles had been replaced in our bathroom but others needed to be and there were one or two holes in the wall.
The floors do not have carpets so every footstep, be it overhead, below, outside or next to our room was heard loud and clear.

The breakfast was very good and provided for all. The fried eggs and bacon were lovely but the sausage, if eaten, stayed with one all day. They provide the usual vast selection of meats, cheese etc.
On our last day, having a guest smoking at the next table while we had breadfast on the terrace spoiled it somewhat.
Notwithstanding these little things we had a really enjoyable seven days at the Hotel Mirador.

The staff were very friendly and although english may not be their second language they soon pick up what is wanted.

Room Tip: High looking to the sea but not on the front.
