Apartment has everything you need for a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Clean, well-proportioned and filled with toys for both grown-ups and children, including internet. Perfectly positioned for walks about the centre of town it also is quiet enough for the children to get some much-needed sleep.
The appartment is very good and at a good location to visit the area. If you go by car, I will recommend the Arenal Casco Viejo, where you can buy online a card for the days you will stay and go in and our as many times as you like. To go to the casco viejo or the parking to the appartment, the best are the stairs that are just one block above the appartment. To go up, the stairs are mechanical (ascalator).
Our group of 4 (two moms, two daughters) spent a week here recently, and it was a great spot for exploring the city and seeing the Guggenheim (a 15-min walk at most). Idoia met us when we arrived, and she was friendly and helpful. The apartment was clean, if a bit Spartan, and there are plenty of towels and extra sheets if needed. We also found an umbrella for the rainy days, of which there were several!
The evenings were quite cool, but the radiators in each room heated them up fast and efficiently.
We were warned not to take too long a shower in case the water ran out, but we never had a problem with that.
A few minor complaints:
The kitchen isn't really isn't set up for meals if you plan to cook there. We only wanted breakfast in the apartment, but we didn't even have salt for some eggs, and we had to buy our own paper toweling. We also bought a bottle of olive oil because there's absolutely nothing to cook with. Nor were any garbage bags provided, so we had to buy those too. The one night we decided to stay in and have some spaghetti, there were no bowls of an adequate size.
There was only one small wastebasket in the entire apartment, so we also bought one of those for the bathroom, and left it there the day we went home.
None of these things are huge detriments, but most rentals provide at least a roll of paper toweling, some extra garbage bags, and enough wastebaskets.
Finally, there are no free-standing lamps in the apartment, and the overhead lighting is quite bright. In the evening, it would be nice to have dimmer light, but again, it's not a deal-breaker.
If none of these things would bother you greatly, the location is super for getting around, and there's a big supermarket a few meters from the apartment.
Stayed for two nights at this apartment - very clean, colourful and suited us (me, husband, two boys (10 &5) and mother in law) perfectly as a base. It's situated out of the centre but is equidistant to the Guggenheim (18 min walk) and the Old town (13 min). I really liked living amongst locals - plenty of shops and a really nice bar across the road that also serves up a cheap, tasty plentiful breakfast. Oh and there's a street escalator to take back up the hill - brilliant idea!
Perfect location for exploring the old quarter, river, funicular, Guggenheim, etc. Stayed here as a bar for BBK festival - about 30 min pleasant walk to the free bus stop at the stadium. Supermarket, bars and restaurants (mainly in old quarter) nearby. Apartment is modern and in excellent condition, in the heart of a residential area, but not at all far from the sights. In a reasonably hilly street, but there's the added benefit of outside travellators, for the walk back from the old quarter - you just need to cope with the gravity induced run down initially (take it slow and you'll be fine)! Airport bus stop is about 20 mins walk (1.50 euro) but that's the direct option - we prebooked at taxi, for airport to door, for 34 euro. Very enjoyable stay.
