Our family stay in Casa Mirta became one of our favourite holiday of all times. The house was amazing, spacious, clean, beautifully decorated and felt truly like a home! The village is beautiful, quite and has amazing surroundings. We had very very nice neighbours who gave u tours around the village, and even took us to the peak of a close by mountain out of their kind heart. There is a swimming pool in a nearby village which we used couple of time for free. The beach is close, only less than an hour away. There is very good food in nearby villages, with very reasonable prices.
We has absolutely amazing time. Thanks to Mirta and great communications, and many thanks to the neighbours and their very friendly attitudes.... We may come back one day and stay there again with friends...
Casa Mirta is the best holiday we had so far. When you are looking for a calm place in the mountains, with the sound of the river next to it, 30min the lots of interesting places to visit in asturias, this is the best place to go. The owners, Mirta and Augusto are very friendly. They received us with an asturian cider and a homemade cake. Really nice people.
The place is just amazing. We were with 3 kids between 8-13 and they really enjoyed too.

This is a charming, comfortable house in a lovely area; the photos on the website really don’t do it justice. The accommodation is generous; we appreciated having plenty of space for dining, cooking and relaxing – both inside and out. As four adults, it was good to have the option of separate spaces if we needed them (and having two bathrooms was very handy). There is an attractive, private garden with stunning mountain views. The living room also has amazing views from its large windows.
José, our contact for getting the keys and sorting out any problems with the house, was very friendly and helpful.
With regard to facilities in the area, we did our grocery shopping in Cangas de Onís. There’s a very nice bar in Taranes, just a short walk from the house (top end of the village – near the church). A little further away (under 2 miles) is La Casona de Mestas - a larger hotel/restaurant/bar, that does good food and has thermal baths that non-residents can use for a small charge.
There are plenty of walks in the area – some strenuous, others very easy - with wonderful scenery. Obviously, having the Picos de Europa just a short drive away is a major draw, but the area of Ponga is beautiful in its own right.
In short, we had a great time and I'd love to stay there again.
