Very nice hotel Close to the old district and great location for shopping and drinking

The only downside is the road works around the hotel

The rooms are nice and there is tea and coffee 24 hours on ground floor

We stayed for 7 nights and enjoyed every one of them. The initial welcome was friendly and we were given a twin room on the ground floor, which opened onto a lovely open air courtyard. If you're a smoker then you want a ground floor room. If you're not then the 2 courtyards were quiet enough that you'd be unlikely to be bothered by people smoking.

The room, like the hotel, was a little tired - but clean and comfortable. The air conditioning was amazing, almost too strong, but when it's in the high 30's/low 40's outside that's very nice. We ended up keeping it cool and using the provided blankets to sleep in and keep the chill off at night.

Breakfast was good but not great. Scrambled eggs, bacon and frankfurters were the only cooked options, but there was plenty of bread, cold meat and sausages, fruit, croissants, etc. Coffee was from a machine which is available 24 hours, and was very nice.

There's no bar (you can get drinks in the evening, but there's no area to sit and mingle), no pool and the courtyards are quiet - so if you're intending to spend a lot of time in the hotel and want to meet or watch people then this probably isn't the place for you. However, if you want a quiet, cool place to rest then it's great.

Finally we come to it's location - which is ideal for exploring. It's pretty much dead centre of old Seville, so it's a 3 minute walk to the Alameda de Hercules or Las Setas. It's less than 2km to the Alcazar, Santa Cruz, Triana or the Macarena. There are literally hundreds of tapas bars within easy walking distance, so no need for a bar or restaurant in the hotel.

We really enjoyed the hotel. It suited our type of holiday, where we get out and see things by walking every day. If that's your type of holiday then I'd recommend Hotel Cervantes as a good base.

Professional staff, traditional style, and just a very pleasant place to stay by any standard.

Also a good, central location.

Highly recommended, and vastly better value than some nearby competitors such as the vile Hotel Palace Sevilla

This is not a 4 star hotel. Arriving is a bit of a mission as it does have parking but only for those who are brave enough to negotiate Seville. Best use public transport. We parked further away and walked.

Checking in was fine and the two small courtyard areas are very nice. They would be even nicer if not filled with smokers.

Our room was in the newer part and on first floor. Unfortunately above the breakfast room and the coffee/tea machine. Luckily we didn’t spend a lot of time in room. Noise travels. Especially from the person using the bathroom above us.

Room size is good and is adequate. No safe in our room and furnishing were worn but ok. Bathroom - oh dear. It is fine if you are a gymnast but for those not quite on that level it is tight. Not realising the bidet was right behind door and stopped it opening, the door smashed right back in my face. Ouch. Showering was a feat. First of all you have to try to get hottish water. Then you have to get in the bath/shower. This requires you to navigate the toilet. Basically you have to practically step over the toilet to get in the shower.

Location is a 10 minute walk away from main area. However some of this last small streets approaching hotel feel very lonely at night.

Can’t comment on breakfast as we didn’t want to pay the 12 Euro each. We did have a packet of out of date crisps from the mini bar at 1.50 which actually were ok.

As we were leaving the room we killed a cockroach and I think that neatly rounded off our stay.

Reason the hotel gets poor instead of terrible is the staff were friendly and for a city centre hotel it was reasonable. Wouldn’t stay again but it wasn’t horrific.
