Although the main attractions of the city were a 20 minute walk away we didn't much mind this because the route we took was pleasant and took us through the differing parts of Malaga. The hotel was in a convenient location, attached to the main station and a large shopping centre. The shops were great and there were restaurants and cafe's available. There was a good food hall in the deparment store across the road at the front of the hotel.

The hotel itself was VERY stylish, which made us feel a bit special. The design was contemporary with great seating areas in the lobby. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice. as we stayed in the Barcelo Sants (Barcelona) we knew what to expect. The rooms were very design conscious with a huge bed and a relaxing arm chair. The bathroom was excellent with a power shower and pressure jets that massaged away the aches and pains of city exploration. The guys on reception were friendly and pleasant and the service in the dining area each morning was great, the staff smiled and we didn't feel rushed.

We did try the restaurant but couldn't view a menu and prices before we went in. The meal was disappointing (far too neuveax) and expensive.

There were good views of the main station concourse from the first floor but the view from our room on the 3rd wasn't really inspiring. The air conditioning in the room was needed because it was hot outside (and it worked properly).

In conclusion we found Malaga to be a stylish and friendly city, away from the fish & chip brigade that went further down the coast. Great guitarists in the cathedral square and good food at El Jardin. Flamenco and Tappas..The hotel was calming and cool, we'd definitely stay there again and probably use the slide that connects the first and ground flloor!

Excellent location. Rooms are spacious with huge beds and a great shower room. Breakfast was mediocre although there was a good choice. The bar is wierd! There is no obvious bar; it's hidden behind a large pair of lips set into the wall and there is no obviuos way to find a waiter. We asked at reception where we were told a waiter would come and take our order. After 10 minutes we got fed up and left the uncomfortable seating. Very strange. Despite this it is good value for money with and knowledgable courteous staff. Would stay there again simply because of the location next to the train and coach station and handy for exploring the city centre.

The hotel is conveniently situated with direct access to shops and the station, yet it is a calm oasis. It is modern, comfortable with excellent amenties, and a delight to stay in.

We had great difiiculty finding this hotel but it was a real oasis when we did. Very good standard of room and bathroom for the price paid. We wished we had been able to stay longer as it was so conveniently placed to see Malaga. It was only an overnight stay as we were en route to stay at El Duquesa nearer to Gibraltar. The long, silver slide down into the foyer was a surprise bonus and very funky. The decor and furniture seemed very Dali-esque too. Hope to return one day!

Room Tip: Take a good, clear street map with you unless you can take directions in Spanish!
