A lovely apartment on the farthest end of the El Palo beach area.
Great if you want to be away from the crowds and plastic 'resort' feeling, yet still very close to a wonderfully quiet, local stretch of beach. The apartment is one block away from the beach, a few minutes walk from the bus to Malaga and supermarkets. We booked a taxi from the airport which took about 20 minutes. (It would be about 40 minutes by bus.) This area is more residential so don't expect all restaurant menus to be in English, but this is actually a great reason to stay in this area. Many people come to this end to seek out a bit of authenticity such as the 'El Tintero' restaurant on the water, and other lovely little places along the beach promenade.
The apartment itself is in a condo type building and is a lovely, smallish 3 bedroom with a side balcony that has a table with a nice (if narrow) view of the water one block away. The owners kindly provided us with beach chairs and an umbrella we could bring to the beach, and had little lemoncake muffins waiting for us to use for breakfast since we got in rather late in the evening. There were coffee filters and coffee provided for the coffee-maker, and plenty of tea as well. The windows are not double-paned so you do hear the humming traffic noise from the nearby road. Very good wifi.
Overall this was a great place and a good, fuss-free experience. I like this quiet area, and if you need bustle and the lovely centre of Malaga, it's just a bus ride away.
