“Very good hotel, but wouldn't come back”
Reviewed 16 September 2012

This hotel is very well situated right downtown but still close to the beach (15-20 minute walk). The rooms are clean and modern, the staff ( all of wich speaks english) is very friendly. The roof top pool is beautiful an offers a stunning view of the city and all its attractctions If you were staying only for a couple of days I would recommend it.
The downsides are that the wifi in the room is not free ( which in my exprience with Spain is uncommon). The pool although beatiful has almost no service ( if you want anything you need to go to the restaurant , which also on the top floor and ask for it). Finally, as the roof top terrace is rather small it fills up quite quickly and because there is virtually no staff to serve or monitor the roof, many of the people on the roof are not actually guests of the hotel, so as a guest you may not have a place to sunbath if you don't get there early enough

Thank you about your comments about our property.
Related the swimming pool service, we inform you that our terrace has 500 squares metres and the guest counts with bar service. Our most demanded common area is the terrace and the clients need to make a booking in advance for lunch and dinner. We offer it for everybody, not only for the guest inhouse, but the latter has priority over other.

We will be pleased to having you again in the hotel, so do not hesitate in contact us.
Best regards

We arrived a few hours before check in and they had a room ready - which was excellent. Our room had the most amazing view of the cathedral, Moorish castle and old town (room 1041, on 14th floor -one below pool & bar), very clean, great toiletries ( decent size-not tiny tubes),beds very comfortable, great air-con. TV, CD player and a free mini bar ( we just paid standard rate) it wasn't stocked with spirits ( and rightly so as we would have drank too many!) one San Miguel, a non alcolholic San Miguel, lots of water (sparkling and still), diet cola, normal cola, fanta-soft stuff- but a really brilliant idea - if only for the water for night times)
Lovely beds!-very comfortable
Pool is great - you can have a decent swim in it- the view is amazing!!!! ( I Picked this hotel for view and pool as when we stayed in hotel opposite a few months prior it's pool was out of operation and we were allowed to use AC Palacio's and we were quite amazed by the lovely view (15 floors up) over Malaga. Looked great at night also -white plastic LED bar stools and tables and cool music playing.
Breakfast was excellent - loads of choice.
The location could not be bettered!!!!!!!
Room service and ladies cleaning rooms were brilliant. Reception staff -efficient, not unfriendly but not particularly friendly - I would say- businesslike.

Only slight negatives -foyer smelt like open drains - obvious they were very aware of this as on one afternoon it had a very heavy smell of some sort of disinfectant/air freshener ( I didn't care about this as everyone was immaculate - but for the hotel's sake - it will put certain people off - especially coming in off the street, not knowing what the rooms, service are like).

Info in room didn't seem to relate to that particular AC hotel, so we had to phone reception to find out check in, where breakfast room was and when pool opened.
For piece of mind I would have liked a safety deposit box in room, we just sort of expect to see one now.

Room Tip: 1041 has excellent views of the cathedral , mountains/castle and old town ( side view of cathedral...

We stayed here for 5 days as a friend recommended to us there was lots to do.
The hotel is in the perfect spot to visit everything. We walked for miles along the beach in both directions. Walked to the Botanical gardens (takes 1hr 15mins) and back again .
Walked around all of the city visiting all of its sights, Cathedral, Alcazar, Castle, Picasso Museum,Roman ruins etc.(recommend Pimpi`s Bar for dinner, behind Picasso musem)
Had a day out to Seville and another day out to Grenada booked at the little travel agent round the corner that the tourist information centre suggested.

We booked the hotel because of the size of its roof top swimming pool (seemed to be the largest we could find) and spent some time there ,although we didnt actually swim in the pool as the breeze was enough to keep us cool. The roof top has brilliant views and having walked around so much we think this hotel had the best location in Malaga. (across the road from the sea and central to everything)
Unfortunately we didnt get the chance to use the roof top restaurant since it seemed to be booked out for functions most of the time. The area round the pool turns into a bar in the evening.
Malaga is a great place to be with loads of great beaches, restaurants and cafes and lots of night life ,so you can be as busy or Lazy as you like here!

Room Tip: Our room didnt have a balcony, but we wouldnt have had time to use it anyway. The view was still grea...

This is a international chain hotel. It is on the edge of the port area but right next to the old town (you see the cathedral and fort if you have the right room window or from the rooftop pool/bar). So good if you come to visit these places and you wil be sure of a clean and up to date accommodation. It is what you expect for an international chain - close your eyes and you could be in the same hotel in any of 50 countries, so nothing inside the hotel that makes it specially Spanish.
The rooms are clean, well appointed. There is a free minibar (at least when we were there!) which is a bit different. The staff are nothing special either, rather make you wait while they continue their talk with each other or do not acknowledge you are in front of them at the desk. Bar and restaurant very expensive (probably how they get the money back for the free minibar) - but you can eat out for breakfast and other meals at top class local cafes and restaurants.

Room Tip: higher floors you are away from the traffic noise - but then you are dependent on the lifts unless y...
