We stayed 3 nights in APARTAMENTO LUZ DEL SUR - we chose the place on the basis of the reviews in Tripadvisor - this time they were spot on. This is a great place - the two bedrooms are clean and spacious; we were able to have a relaxed breakfast in the kitchen - all other meals we ate outside - Cadiz is full of wonderful restaurants. Cadiz in early April was delightful - it feels so Spanish and hasn't been spoiled by tourist "development". I can't think of a better base from which to see the beauties of Cadiz than Sophie & Jose's apartment - the sunsets were truly spectacular - all you need to do is cross the road and head down the beach for a hundred meters - and WOW!
The apartment was within walking distance of Cadiz centre and all its amenities, beaches, shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. It is a beautifully decorated and fully equipped apartment with everything you need for a relaxing stay. extremely clean and tidy with a wonderful view of the sea. The owners were so helpful and helped us with our luggage and local information. Parking was not so easy and there were a lot of steps to the flat. but for us it was perfect and we would recommend it ( and the ice cream from the owners shop downstairs) to anyone wanting to visit this lovely part of Spain
We loved this apartment. It was extremely comfortable and beautifully furnished. Walking along the beach and exploring the area, particularly the bar on the beach to the left of the flat watching the sun go down was gorgeous.
Leaving this apartment tomorrow with great sadness as it feels like a home away from home. Both the welcome and the attention to detail given by Patricia and Jose has added to the excellent facilities and location. The apartment is perfectly situated only a few minutes walk to the beach one way and the old town the other. There is a lovely local supermarket just outside the door. Highly recommended.
Our first time in Cadiz and the apartment made it a wonderful first stay. It is exactly as described - 10 mins walk from the station, a few minutes walk from the beach,5/10 minutes from the cathedral etc. and the Flamenco school on your doorstep across the road. Couldn't be better. On the practical side it's a good size for a couple or. having two good size bedrooms, for 3/4. It's very well laid out with everything you need for a stay. On the emotional side - it's open and bright, immaculately furnished, and has THAT view from the balcony, which is even better than the photo. It's a small balcony - not for sitting on but a great place to look out on the sunrise/sunset, and opening the balcony doors first thing in the morning - fantastic. It is up the three flights of stairs but so worth it - but don't take lots of luggage/very large suitcases. Patricia and Jose were there to meet us and helped us with the luggage. They were so welcoming and helpful - the perfect hosts. Don't be put off by English not being on the list of languages - with my 'Traveller' Spanish and my partners pidgin French we managed perfectly well. and if you're worried do a bit of homework on some key phrases/questions in Spanish - with Google translate you'll be fine. No review would be complete without a mention of their ice cream parlour which must be tried at least once, but probably more. I could go on and on, and unfortunately I didn't get round to taking photos, but in a sentence; a beautiful apartment that feels very comfortable/homely and in the best location, with perfect hosts, and really good value for money (whatever the exchange rate at the time).
