It is a central square and certainly provides seating and water fountains which are helpful in what can be a very hot place in the summer and fall. Nothing that special but has outdoor seating for some eateries.

My hotel was based here so I spent a lot of time in the vicinity. The main centrepiece is of course that wonderful statue. The square is lined with the usual array of restaurants and so on with plenty of places to sit. It sits slap, bang in the centre of the city with roads leading off in all directions to pretty much anywhere that visitors will want to go.

Another typical plaza with what all tourists expect. Has some good restaurants but the beggars are irritating.

This is the main plaza of the city. At the centre of the plaza is a statue and tribute to Gonzalo Fernandez de Cordoba or colloquially Gran Capitán. A hero of the reconquest of Spain. The plaza is a pretty happening place with lots of cafes and people to watch as the world goes by.

Kind of tough to see the plaza these days as they are getting ready for a festival and have tents covering a lot of it, but still, worthy to slip by here and listen to the clock tower chime music (on the hour). This is close to my hostel so I have been thru this plaza a dozen or more times. Great people watching.
