This was an excellent hotel, check in and out was speedy with no fuss and we were even give a bottle of chilled water when we checked in.
The room was small but clean and comfortable...what more do you need. The location was fantastic for the surrounding tapa bars

Very easy to get to from bus station. Location excellent with plenty of cafes, tapas bars surrounding the hotel. Very easy and walkable distance to the Fortress, cathedral and marina. Staff are very friendly and welcoming.
Rooms are small but have everything you need. Bathrooms have good sized showers.
Basic European breakfast but very well priced. Selection of breads, meats, cheeses, fruits, coffee and juices. Very happy with selecting this hotel. I would recommend for anyone just looking for a hot shower and somewhere to sleep.

We were well looked after in this hotel. Good value for money for the room and breakfast. Rooms can be loud but we were moved on the first night after some dreadful noise outside the hotel.

Good for getting around Almería and a good setup for the garage.

Great service in all respects, reception, housekeeping and breakfast.

Dreadful hotel. Room walls are paper thin, dark and dingy, but bathrooms are pretty good if small. What ruined it for us was the rudeness of the breakfast staff. I’d already been down for my breakfast being an early riser, then came down an hour later with my family to sit with them and have another coffee while they eat and we discuss our day ahead. Something I’ve done for the whole time we have been here and on many, many other vacations. I was then rudely, and in no time certain terms, told off in front of the other guests for having a 2nd breakfast, well, the cheek of ordering a 2nd coffee. I complained to the lady in the front desk just to be told it’s the rules. The breakfast lady just appeared to be in a foul mood. Under no circumstances should you berate a guest in front of other guests, and if you do at least get your facts right. Horrible place.

We took the bus from the airport and walked to the hotel from the central bus stop (saving ourselves €20). The hotel is sign posted (big yellow signs) and is about a 10 minute walk from the bus stop.

Check in was easy with pleasant English speaking staff. They will ask for your passport which is standard procedure.

Our room (108) was clean and weĺl aired. As is standard there's no carpet in the room. The TV has no English speaking channels but who cares about that. The wifi is free and worked well. The bathroom had a good shower with shower gel provided. There was a safe but you had to ask for a key (which defeats the object).

When leaving the hotel they ask that you leave your key behind which isn't a problem as the tags are quite large.

Breakfast was served from 0730 and was standard for a Spanish hotel ie cold meats, cereals and pastries. Fresh coffee made to order was available.

There are a couple of bars outside the hotel, we headed to the one on the left which has a "Superbock" sign outside. They don't really speak much English but made us welcome and plied us with free tapas.

Very close by to the hotel is the civil war air raid shelter (in a glass building) which is worth a visit.

Overall for the price you can't go too far wrong with La Perla. Clean, good location. Don't expect frills and you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Rooms on the right side will be a bit quieter. None of the rooms have views.
