In terms of style, etc... this is a "3 star" hotel, but it has good things going for it. Friendly staff, rooms are small but very clean, and generally good access. Neighborhood seemed fairly quiet, and not too far from the Hauptbahnhof, by tram. As others have noted, tram line #4, 5 stops to city center Augustusplatz, Uni, Gewandhaus, Leipzig Oper, etc, and one more stop to train station. Found a great price, breakfast with worth the slight surcharge, 8.5 euros, great selection. And, they have a small courtyard, could sit outside for a bit with morning coffee. Hotel has a decent small bar as well, that even offers pizza in the evenings.
Leipzig, clearly city on the rebound, worth the visit-- lost of history, past and present.More
