Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in a single room on the first floor. Check in was easy and the staff super pleasant and helpful, with well spoken English despite what the receptionist claimed (way better than my German). She was really helpful with local knowledge and ways to get into the old town and what to see once in there. The room was quite small, but I only wanted a bed and shower and both were good. Had no problems with the wifi, and breakfast was typically German with breads, cold meats, eggs, jams, fruit and cheeses. All fresh and good. Unfortunately I couldn't try the restaurant as it was closed both nights I was there. The hotel carpark is about 50m away and undercover, which made a nice change not having to scrape snow and ice off! The carpark is also locked at night with guests provided with a key.
There is a tram station about 5mins walk away, but I chose to walk into the city centre which took about 40mins. The area looks a bit rough with all the graffiti, however if you take the time to look you will see some great street art. I had no issues walking around at night.
Apparently this hotel started life as a private house, I would have loved to have seen it then but it makes a nice, quiet hotel run by great people.
Would definitely stay here again.
