Very interesting to see. Ruins are in good enough shape for you to get a feel for the original use of each room. The Roman history is Trier is amazing!

You can project your inner image of the hugeness of the original building on the therms on the glass case. Sewage systems from Roman and medieval times,

Worth a look, but not particularly easy to understand exactly what you're looking at. A site strictly for the history buffs in my view.

The Viehmarkt-Thermen have been found when they build the underground-parking in 1985. And when the museum-people finished their "sandbox-games" they wanted to conserve their work. So poor city-government take a big credit to construct the glass-box for more then 20 Million Deutsche Mark (10 Million EURO) by famous architect Professor Unger.
Inhabitants of Trier give the building the name "Ungers-vitrine".
You can see everything through the big windows. So save your money instead of expensive entrance-fee and take a good lunch in one of the restaurants only some footsteps away on Viehmarkt-place (nice in summertimes) ore around the next street-corner in Neustrasse.

Tip: visit the Handwerker-Brunnen which is only 100 m away.
It was a gift from all craftmen for the town for 2.000 years-birthday in 1984.
Give you enough time to view the lots of details of the fountain!!!
Believe me: I'm inhabitant and every time I take a look on the fountain I can find details I've not seen before.!

We had the pass for all of the locations around Trier, it was worth a visit, but I'm not sure I would have paid for this separately. There are a lot of cool ruins, but they are stacked on top of each other, it is quite hard to easily understand what is what down there. It is cool to see and I recommend getting the Trier pass and taking a quick look, with a few minutes at least.
