So originally I had reserved a non Marriott brand which was opposite the K20 gallery due to its much feted location but on reflection and after coercion from my partner I cancelled my original reservation and switched to the Marriott . My two biggest reservations had been that it was in medien hafen and that it was a courtyard brand and both fears were unfounded.
The price point is more than reasonable at 100 euros a night, ( that's a river view) the rooms newly refurbished and there are facilities such as endless free tea, coffee, water and fruit in reception. The beds are true double ( not middle zipped singles). There is in room tea and coffee , bath, shower and good toiletry brands. The restaurant has an outside terrace and the bar staff were lovely and very friendly as indeed was the whole front of house team.
Medien hafen has its own fair share of great restaurants and bars but is also easy tram, bus or Rhein side walk to the sights such as altstadt.
Platinum benefits such as early check in, late check out and free wifi all apply just not free breakfast so worth the walk to the local bakery to save approx 50% on continental breakfast prices.
Would highly recommend. More
