We have stayed in this hotel many times over the last 10 years. The hotel has just had a complete make over! The new colors are very modern, and easy on the eye. Soft furnishings have also been changed and the hotel looks really lovely. The bedrooms have also been refurbished & now have Queen or King size beds, and a very large LG television. The Renaissance is a little bit out of the center, but there is a Tram stop less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel so this is not a problem. Breakfast is very good with lots of choice and everything freshly prepared. Staff at this hotel are so helpful & friendly -whether you need directions or a recommendation for a good restaurant nearby. The Tram line 701, running near the hotel goes to Schloss Benrath (Castle) where you can visit the Castle and lovely grounds. There is also a small village nearby.

Room Tip: All rooms are really lovely-we have stayed many times.

From the outside the hotel looks quite average, but the inside has been renewed recently. The location of the hotel is great if you travel by car, parking is below the hotel.
If you want to go downtown, tram stops near the hotel. A 15 minute ride will take you to the city center.
Breakfast in the morning is really good, besides the bacon & eggs you will find lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Beds and rooms are clean and spacious.
Small downside: additional costs to get WiFi in the hotelroom...!? Come on Renaissance, it's 2016!

Ok for sleepover. No gym in the hotel (yet). Breakfast was ok. Staff was friendly. Location was convenient. No shuttle to the airport. Room was ok. Nothing that you will remember for long time but ok for a short stay. I would choose a different one next time.

We flew in and out of Dusseldorf for a trip including several cities within a 2 hour train ride from the area. The night after we landed, we stayed at a different property, and stayed here the night before our flight out. BY FAR, this was the better property! Rooms in Europe are notoriously small, and we were so excited to have some space finally! Dusseldorf in general was absolutely terrible, but we never left the hotel the last night. Honestly, this was the best treatment I have had as a gold member. They offered complimentary snacks and drinks, discount at the bar/ restaurant, and extra bonus points if we did not take advantage of our included breakfast. There were several business groups in the bar and restaurant area, but the food was good.
I don't plan on ever returning to Dusseldorf if I can help it, but if I did, this is where I would stay!
