This hotel incorporated European elegance with genuine friendliness, making our 3 night stay entirely enjoyable. Upon arrival, we found a beautiful tray of fruit and some beer in an ice bucket in our good-sized room. The breakfasts and dinner we had in the hotel were very good. They even offer a sushi type breakfast ingredients bar.
One major advantage for me, is that they have a nice, indoor pool. There's a department store across the street (in case you need to buy something) and many stores in walking distance on the "Ko". If I ever go back to Dusseldorf, I will be staying at this property again.

Room Tip: We liked our garden view room

I've stayed in many hotels and I can say that this was one of the most pleasant stays I have had, even with the characteristically super-firm (hard) European beds! So, by now you've figured out this is a review written by an American, and most likely suited to Americans.

The Breidenbacher Hof is a wonderful property and if you get a chance to stay here - do! The rooms are large and well appointed. The bathrooms are bright, clean and elegant.

I'll get back to those, but what made this property truly stand out above the rest were the people. We were only there three nights, but the staff learned my name, my wife's name and my daughter's name and addressed us as such. And, while we were definitely not the A-list celebrities the hotel routinely has staying there, we felt comfortable and "at-home" there. As it turned out, we were in Dusseldorf during my daughter's 16th birthday and they surprised her with a wonderful petite cake and a small gift. It made her day since getting her license would have to wait until we returned to the states.

Back to the hotel itself. The entrance to the hotel is somewhat non-descript, but that changes when you enter the hotel itself. The lobby is more like a very large living room with a fireplace and elegant sofa-style seating. Up a black marble stairway is a large lounge and a wonderfully sophisticated bar. I can only imagine the deals that have been reached there.

Past the lobby is a guest-access only library lounge with complementary soft drinks, tea, coffee and snacks. It's also where you'll find the hotel's personal assistant who was very helpful throughout our stay - a notch above the typical concierge.

The hotel is perfectly located to visit the Altstadt and Konigsallee - both are just out the front door. Go right and you're at Konigsallee, go left and you're in Altstadt.

I could go on, but if we are ever lucky enough to be in Dusseldorf again, we will definitely stay here. We may even go back, just so we can stay here. Now, if we could just get the Europeans to take the same focus on the bed and sleep experience that the American luxury hotels do, we'd really have an unparalleled experience. Don't miss staying here - it's awesome.

Room Tip: There are no bad rooms. My tip, just a get a room in this hotel.

Room was luxurious, large, peaceful and beautiful. Loved the living room with fresh coffee and drinks all day. The staff was truly delightful and their restaurant recommendation was perfection. Only stayed for one night, wish it had been for longer. So worth a splurge. Location can't be beat and we wanted for nothing while there.

I stayed in the hotel for a week last June and it was a very pleasant experience. From the reception to the rooms, everything is very well cared for. Great location, near the historical city center, best shopping area, and Kaufhof Gallery is just across the street. The living room is a pleasant and reserved place. If you want to read, just wait for someone or have a coofee, you are not exposed in the reception lobby. Distinguished service and great breakfast - though a bit expensive. Ther is a beatifull p ark in a walking distance from the hotel. I believe this hotel makes your stay in the city to be a great experience in your trip and I do recommend it.

An expensive luxurious hotel located in a very good place. If you go to the right from the hotel, it is the center of the shopping area and streets of Düsseldorf with the exclusive boutiques and malls. If you go to the left, you end up in the beautiful Old Town of Düsseldorf where there are also nice shops and great restaurants and bars to choose from.
This hotel is a first class hotel where you also have strict security. The lobby is closed. You come in to the hotel to the reception but the lobby where you can sit and relax is in the next room where only guests of the hotel and their acquaintances can go in with a key.
The lobby is the nicest lobby I have ever experienced. It's quiet, cozy and private. Generous too! They have free drinks.
We stayed in a deluxe room. The room is very spacious. Very comfortable queen size bed. If you like hard matress, like I do you will really like the bed. Gorgeous bath room but the shower is complicated to understand. I had difficulty getting the water temperature I wanted. The hairdryer has a very short cable connected to the wall that you can not remove it from the wall so it is also a bit uncomfortable to use. No toothbrush and toothpaste amneties provided.
If you have a family member or friends on another floor, you can not go to that floor on your own. The security is very strict. So if you are going to stay there with your family or friends in more than one room and you are on different floors, ask for another key. Otherwise you will end up going to the lobby on the elevator.
The room is very comfortable with nice furniature. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The breakfast buffet is also excellent. You pay for what you get. You should take your time and enjoy it. You need atleast an hour!
The concierge is professional and helpful.
If you want to treat yourself with a luxury weekend or night, this is the hotel to be in!
