We visited this place due to its close vicinity to the cathedral. The portions were pretty big and priced well. Good schnitzel and the fried potatoes were better than chips. Great friendly helpful service. Well priced. The beers only come in 200ml glasses which I found odd but he assured me its the norm... Only down point - the pork knuckle wasn't crispy. The meat was well cooked but the skin was chewy and subpar compared with other places we've had the same meal. Still highly recommend though!

This brew house is easy to find; it's across the road from the cathedral. It is huge and noisy but a great atmosphere. Schnitzel was lovely and tender and the drinks menu is extensive. The food came very quickly which was a bonus. Worth a visit.

Gaffel am Dom is great. We are now stuck on potato pancakes so we ordered Apfel Reibekuchen, potato pancakes with stewed apples and Schnitzel w/ white asparagus w/ hollandaise sauce. The food started to arrive and it was beautiful(but I must admit I was jealous of the table of eight with 8 beautiful pork knuckles!). The potate pancakes were different than the ones the day before that were perfect but these were perfect also. There are some things in life that you just don’t want to stop eating and these were some of that. They had that wonderful chunky apple sauce on the side. But these also came with this little package of thin slices of dark bread. The schnitzel was extremely good with a perfect batter. The white asparagus were delicious as was the hollandaise sauce. Also served with the schnitzel dish were about 7 small potatoes. They were good but as we decided just filler. The atmosphere at Gaffel am Dom is great – a big party in a beer hall. Service is perfect with the waiters walking around serving beer after beer and keeping track of the number one drinks by placing a mark on your coaster. Prices are reasonable for great food. Would absolutely return and highly recommend.

This beer house is located next to the cathedral, which you don't want to miss. After a visit to the wonderful church, drop by for a couple of beers and some appetizers, if you're not too hungry. You can have lunch (or dinner) among local customers mostly. Before you sit, have a look around this merry place.

It's large & loud, a table is hard to get, but the turnover is plentiful. Drank many Kolsch served up lovingly by the gentleman. Also ordered a schnitzel that came with a lovely salad, steamed vegetables and croquettes. Not entirely unique, but it was beautifully done. The food is a good way to keep drinking. I was also there for one of the Euro16 football matches, which made it extra special. The service was excellent: fast, warm but still no nonsense. I had 6 beers plus the meal, and it totaled about 26 Euro. A definite steal in my books! They take credit cards too! This is a must, even if just getting a few beers.
