“Beautiful church”
Review of Katharinenkirche

Katharinenkirche
Reviewed 6 April 2018 via mobile

St Catherine's Church ( Katharinenkirche ) is a beautiful Protestant church that is located in one of Franfurts most famous squares namely Hauptwache.
This church was built by Melchior Hessler between 1678 and 1681 in the Baroque style of architecture,it's a very impressive building standing 54 metres high,it is an amazing looking church and very photogenic.
The church was destroyed in 1944 by allied bombing but was rebuilt between 1950 and 1954 and is one of the standout landmark buildings in this part of town.
My twin brother Stephen and I had just been to Cafe Hauptwache were we sat outside and took in the stunning views from this cafe of the church,I couldn't resist having a little look inside,it has a beautiful interior ,very serine and tranquil indeed.
St Katharinen Kirche is easy to locate on An Der Hauptwachte and is most definitely well worth checking out.

Centrally located close to underground and all shops with good German fare. Prices are reasonable and the food is good.

This 17th century church was rebuilt after WWII bombing. The largest of the Lutheran churches the city, it is a tranquil respite in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the area. Free lunch time concerts are offered.

I attended the Easter Service + communion and realized that we have only been in the USA for a few years. This old church is pre-dating the discovery of America by many centuries.
