My wife and I saw a poster for this retrospective on our way to the more famous Staedel Museum and, museum card in hand, we decided to visit - "5 minutes" my wife said.
Well, we were there for well over an hour, and a most enjoyable time it was - eclectic works in a range of styles spread over 3 floors which we very much enjoyed.

I had a wonderful experience at this small museum situated in a beautiful old home. I came here to see the work of Reinhold Ewald. Don't no him, neither did I.

When I arrived, it was late. The museum was closing at 5:00 pm and I had only 30 minutes to view an exhibition spanning three floors. Since it was so late, the staff didn't charge me anything. Thanks guys.

The temporary exhibition, was an amazing retrospective of Ewald's work. A 20th century German painter from the Rhine-Main region. The work of this Post-Expressionist artist is rich, diverse and in some instances, very colorful.

For me this exhibition was an outstanding introduction to an artist I wasn't aware of. This museum is a part of Frankfurt's Museum row. How much you enjoy it will depend on what's on display at the time. One other note, the museum does have a lift.

Only small so it depends what exhibition is on as to whether it's worthwhile visiting. Squeaky floors!

The visit of this site depends on what kind of exhibition is on display right now. If you are a first time visitor of the city with limited time, probably go somewhere else. If you have plenty of time available, check out, what kind of exhibition is there. I was there this week and was little disapointed that all the commentary of the exhibition was in German only. So you don't really understand the so well the relation between the displayed stuff. But the entrance fee is very low and the architecture of the house made it up for!
No souvenir shop, 1 coffee mashine available in the last floor. Bathroom, wardrobe (also key boxes).
