A unique experience through history of the hews of the Hesse area. Check out the current special exhibition. The building is on the side of the Rhein and a walk there is a must.

At present the place is under heavy construction, however there is great idea on the wooden wall surrounding the works: it's a comic, which is dealing with the story or the construction works.

After hearing about this museum on a walking tour we decided to visit. It was well worth the visit. It is well set out and very interesting with multi media and the actual ruins of some of the ghetto, which you walk around. We also went into the cemetery.

I had to chance to visit this museum during the "Nacht Museen". It was really close to Mainkai and other museums. And in my point of view, it's definitely the best place to get to know the history of European Jews.

The museum presents a very interesting display of a gone world.
Nearby is the old Jewish cemetery and the impressive holocaust memorial [incl. Anne Franck's stone].
