First up: There is nothing Japanese about this hotel - but the rooms are nice and the mini bar is free.
On a business trip, we’d organised boating activities along the lake. The Nippon’s location was perfect - just 7 minutes walk to the water - and with a large, healthy convenience store in the middle.
It will cost you €20 for a cab to the Nippon from the airport - which is a €40 return journey. That might bring other hotels in to play - for example near Hauptbahnhof.
The room was a good size, very modern, with a powerful AC unit (very welcome - since we booked in the middle of a 34 degree heatwave).
Breakfast is basic and the staff are friendly.
It is a fine example of a good 4-star hotel near the main lake.
VERY STRANGE: The photos online make the hotel look like a Japanese dojo. Our experience was of a very straightforward western-style hotel. Not a tatami, bamboo curtain or chopstick in sight.More
