We stayed in a private room for 3 nights here and it was such a welcome break from hostel dorms. This place is gorgeous and so relaxing. It has a very comfortable feel and the small touches made all the difference (tea and coffee for free, q tips in the bathroom, a good hair dryer). On top of all of this Anne was incredible, so sweet, and gave us some really great recommendations. It you want a nice neighbourhood with good cafes and restaurants, a cosy and friendly place to stay - STAY HERE!

the hostel is cozy, little..minimal..so the name says it all...

there are 10 beds (6bed dorm and two doubles), so the atmosphere is always quiet and relaxed

the common showers are huge and always very clean

anne (the owner) is very kind and helpful in everything about your stay:
as i was checking in late, she gave me all the informations to reach the hostel..and my bed :-) ...and the next day i was lucky to get a piece of cake she made for the guests

thumbs up for the neighborhood of Kreuzköln that has everything you need: bars, restaurants, 24h shops, bakeries, different markets running in Maybachufer some days of the week, rental bike shops,...

Minimal is an incredible modern-day boutique hostel, who’s owner (Anna) takes such pride and care of her guests, that it is really should more accurately be referred to as a Guest House than Hostel. The design is simply unmatched. From re-purposed furniture, custom loft style beds (no bunkbeds) and modern clean line rehabilitation of the property itself.
The combination of design and owner's care, provided me with a place I was proud to call me home away from home in the heart of Berlin’s hippest neighborhood ‘Kreuzberg’
Highly recommend. Will be returning next time I am in Berlin.

Room Tip: Be sure to sit down with the Owner Anna to get the best tips and custom day trip ideas and suggestions!

We are going back to the UK today after 6 nights in Berlin at the Minimal Hostel and we've had an amazing time! The owner Anne (pronounced like Anna in English) is just the most helpful, patient person. She made our stay so much easier with tips and advice in perfect English and she is very happy to chat about life in Berlin generally. The hostel is very clean and tidy, showers lovely and hot also. The hostel is in a very quiet area of Berlin a few minutes walk from the Schonleinstrasse U-station and Aldi/Lidl, and the canal. Anne only has two double rooms and a bunk room with 5 or 6 beds so it doesn't get really busy and noisy. We stayed in Double Room 2 which is really big. There is a fridge and microwave but no cooker as such. We just lived on fruit for breakfast and a packed salad lunch in the day, then ate out in the evening. We would definitely recommend this hostel and hope to come back to see Anne!

Following good reviews, I opted for Minimal Hostel as my base for a long weekend in Berlin. Very good choice. This is a small hostel, with two double rooms and one common room with six beds (where the lower bunk beds are to be preferred). Very private since curtains cover the bed area. The ambiance is great, not least because the proprietor Anne takes very good care of her guests (and provided very useful information right away upon my request before arriving). The place is very tastefully designed, not least the cool showers - where the five year old son has designed an installation behind a glass wall! Some nice extras made the stay even better, such as shampoos and hand/foot heaters available for the guests. Good location in a cool area. Close to the Schoenleinstrasse U-bahnstation.

Room Tip: If you stay in the common room, opt for a lower bunk bed. With the curtains you have the feeling of having a room toon your own.
