It truly is such an elegant hotel. We were trying to figure out where to stay while in Berlin. We were going there for the Berlin Marathon. We went through a travel agent. We were trying to figure out what hotel would be the best as far as the geographics for the marathon. It ended up being approximately 1/2 mile from where she needed to be for the start of the marathon. It also was in walking distance from so many wonderful restaurants in the area. The Berlin mall which is amazing is also 2 blocks away. It was a perfect location. We also took the train to different areas and one of the stops is right there by the Ritz. The rooms were also just beyond beautiful! The room service is great as well as at night you get chocolates(always nice) and if you need clean towels and water it will be there for you. We LOVED the breakfast in the morning. It is amazing. So much seating. You are greeted with smiles from everyone no matter what time it is. We were there 5 days Every morning right when you sat at the table MARKO was there greeting you with a smile and asking you what you would like to drink. The drinks were there immediately. There is also a bucket of champagne waiting for you if you would like a glass in the morning. He continued to check on if you needed anything else. By the 5th day he knew exactly what you probably were going to ask for. They have a cook that makes homemade scrambled eggs, omelets even eggs benedict.! Anything you want egg related. It was the nicest hotel we have ever been. If you are running the marathon it is the perfect place. Marko plus everyone at breakfast was amazing!! Anything you would ever want for breakfast is there!!

Room Tip: Ask the concierge. They were amazing!!

Huge drop down in quality used to be much better before. They cut down on staff fired Robert the bee feather for ever.
No shampoo had to ask for it. Room phone was not working. Their manager not available to pick up complaints

Outstanding service, well trained staff, spacious room with probably the best mattress I've ever tried. Very good breakfast and strategic location. Pitty that the lobby was under renovation and it was a bit noisy.

This hotel is fantastic - its now sits at the top spot in my best hotels in the world list - tied at number one with The Balmoral in Edinburgh and Hotel Kamp in Helsinki. The Room, perfect, the bed, like sleeping on a cloud, the staff were friendly and gave great service. Breakfast was amazing.

Two small points.

1) The poor guy making eggs at breakfast was completely overworked - he did his best, but he needed help!

2) I would have expected more of a selection on the late night room service menu for a hotel of this category

Small points that should not stop anyone visiting this amazing hotel

Stayed here in July, ideal location for sightseeing tour bus stop opposite. Good restaurants nearby, easy walk to Brandenburg Gate and Checkpoint Charlie. Hotel staff helpful, pleasant and professional. Building work going on therefore breakfast was served in the Brasserie which seemed a bit dark and gloomy, however no complaints about buffet which was very good, eggs served to order and good selection of meats fruit etc. Valet parking made life easy, room was very comfortable with excellent beds. Hotel well lives up to Ritz Carlton name and reputation
