We waited till we arrived in Germany to book each "leg" of the trip. We tried to find something that fit into the following categories: clean, convenient, decent priced, has parking, and bed-bug free. Of all the top rated hotels that were available, The Moevenpick fits the majority of my requirements.
The place was very modern and full of a majority of business people. There were a bunch of conventions/meetings in town. They have an area dedicated to the guest to help them figure out their traveling needs around the city. They have a swanky bar and a restaurant (separate).
The room has a high ceiling, so it makes the room feel a little more bigger. They leave a little note card with a piece of chocolate every day. It was a nice little treat, especially when they tasted so good. The bed comfort level was alright, but it was fine considering our last hotel wasn't as comfortable.
The bathroom door is actually a sliding door with glass blocks as the wall. I wasn't too thrilled with the shower situation because if you were showering, a lot of the water gets "sprayed" out of the area, since it's only a partial glass raise on the tub. I also wished the water pressure was a little more higher. All in all, the bathroom was not too cramped and provided not only a regular mirror, but a magnifying mirror plus a hair dryer.
We had to pay for internet daily and they print out a code for each day to use. it was a little confusing because two nights in a row, it wouldn't let us log in under that code despite still being under the 24 hour live use rule. The second night we decided to ask the front desk and he was kind enough to come upstairs to our room immediately to figure it out. After assessing the situation, he just decided to print us out two more codes to use since we had to use our 3rd code within the 1.5 days of being there. After that, everything seemed to work fine.
When we checked in, we also paid to garage our rental car, which is not even half a block away from the hotel itself. You need a garage access card to get in and out. They gave us a spot number to park, but since it was occupied, we just used the spot next to it.
The walls/door seems a bit thin because it doesn't seem to be blocking sound. In the mornings it's the loudest, probably because people are checking out or leaving for the day,
Not as close as I thought to the city center, but very close to a train station, plus if you decide to walk/wander/explore, it's worth it. We stumbled up so many gems by going down different streets.
All in all, it was a good hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. Would not mind staying again.
