We booked three bedrooms in the Circus Hotel for a three night stay in a Berlin, but were offered a free upgrade to a three bedroom apartment. We accepted and spent the whole weekend congratulating ourselves on our luck.
The Hoffman apartment on the ground floor had the same configuration of bedrooms, two double and one twin, for our group as we had booked at the Circus Hotel but now we had a well equipped kitchen, a dining table for 6 inside and one outside on a private patio, and a living area inside.
The kitchen was well equipped with crockery and cutlery for 6 and the bathrooms were generously furnished with towels. The bathrooms were clean and modern, and one had a stand alone shower, the other had a bath, with an in-bath shower. The whole apartment was very clean, styled in a sleek, contemporary finish, but not compromising on comfort.
The location of the apartments was very good too. We walked to all the main attractions in Berlin and the apartments are on a quiet street just five mins walk to the lively Rosenthalerplatz and the U-bahn down to the Kreuzberg district.
There is a well stocked bakery on the street to the right of the apartment where the lovely woman was very helpful and friendly despite our lack of German. Tea and coffee is provided in the apartment so we were able to pick up lovely chocolate croissants and pretzels and fruit juices in the bakery to have a relaxed, social group breakfast whilst making p,and for the day ahead. I think that's a special aspect if the apartments, because we would have found this more difficult to do if we were in three separate bedrooms in a hotel. I actually think that social downtime at the beginning and end of very busy days really made this weekend for us, and I would consider paying more for an apartment just for this common space for a group to be together.
