Everything about this hostel is great, the location, rooms, staff, breakfast, everything! I have already recommended it to a friend and would happily do it again and again.

The Circus Hostel is a nice sized Hostel in Berlin. Friendly staff across all levels of the Hostel. Tidy rooms and shower/bathrooms make it even better. The downstairs bar is a lot of fun and a great meeting place to meet fellow travelers from all over the world. A tour desk runs from the front desk and is a pick up point for the sensational Berlin Brewer Tour. The circus is a very fun and happy experience and is the hostel to visit in Berlin.

This is the second time that we have stayed at Circus. This time we splurged and got an apartment. It was fantastic. A full kitchen, big bathroom, a comfy bed, lounge chairs, a dining area, and a balcony opening onto the inner courtyard. And it was still cheaper than most places.

Tons of services - you can 'rent' a transit pass for the day; they sell bottled water, which was great; you can borrow hair dryers and hair straighteners for a small deposit (which you get back when you return them). The cafe is great and there are tons of fantastic restos around the area. Online at Circus' website they have PDFs of walking tours - highly recommend having them print the map out and try them - you will discover so many cool places that you might not otherwise.

And be sure to do one of the Brewer's walking tours - the 8 hour one is tiring but comprehensive and really fun.

This hostel deserves all of the kudos you see here - it is really exceptional and I will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the inner courtyard tend to be quieter.

It was almost as good as a hotel except for no tv or shampoo. It had excellent security, great amenities like the bar and the cafe. Would go again.

The hostel was like a four star hotel. Spotless. New. Fantastic staff who helped plan your days, transport etc and later asked how your day was. Cheap, cheap cafe joined to the hostel. Nice area. Laundry around the corner. Metro out the front. Great wifi in the room. Lovely chairs and tables in the sun out the front of the hostel.

But...the doors are off e ground and for some reason you cannot close them without the door making a really loud bang which, in the rooms, sounds like it is right next to you. I noticed other reviewers have raised this problem. I didn't get any sleep for this reason. I was also kept awake by people s reaming and running around. I would. It have heard this, quite as much, if the doors kept more noise out. If closers are put on the doors so they don't bang everytime someone goes not or out of their room, a toilet, the bathroom or into and out of the hallway the place will be amazing.

Room Tip: Ask for a room as far away from the main hallway/stairwell. However the door noise was as loud further down the hall.
