Amazing Stay In Amazing Hotel In Amazing Area.

H2 Hotel Berlin-Alexanderplatz is a superb hotel that me and my twin stayed in on our six day holiday in Berlin and what a superb area this hotel is situated in as it's in one of the best areas in Berlin.
Located on Karl-Liebknecht-Straße'this is a superb hotel by Alexanderplatz and a very lively area called Prenzlauer Berg.This part of Berlin has some excellent pub/bars and restaurants and when we visited Berlin the Christmas Market's were on.
This hotel is very modern with a superb feel and look with a superb reception area and excellent reception staff.The room we were allocated (822) was modern and spotlessly clean with a nice shower.
The beds where excellent as was the room we were allocated.The breakfast'excellent and set us up for the day ahead.Its a really good hotel in a superb area of Berlin that's well worth staying.(This is my first reviews of H2 Hotel Berlin-Alexanderplatz).

Good base for city break

Convenient location, clean and quiet twin comfort room. Breakfast great and available 6.30 till 11am. Had evening meal in restaurant which was very good and reasonably priced. No complaints, would recommend for a no frills convenient base to explore Berlin.

Room tip: If you want extras like tea/coffee making facilities and a fancier restaurant then try H4 literally next door to the H2.

My second and not last stay at this hotel

Great basic hotel near Alexanderplatz. Clean rooms, friendly staff, great breakfast, reasonable prices.
If there was a bus or tram stop just outside the hotel it would be fantastic, but you need to walk a few minutes to Alexanderplatz to catch a train or bus, not really a problem.

Lovely hotel...dubious area

Perfect hotel for visiting Berlin and surrounding areas.
Firstly the positives.....
The hotel itself is lovely, its spotlessly clean, all the staff I spoke to were extremely pleasant and helpful. The beds are so comfortable (although the pillows weren't. But that was my fault for not speaking to housekeeping). The shower is really powerful and hot, even in the mornings which is most unusual. Breakfast was very tasty and plentiful. I felt very safe here, and as a solo female traveller thats very important to me. Its a five minute walk to the train station/buses. Also a lovely xmas market in Alexanderplatz (one of many in the area)

Now for the negative side.
Firstly
As I've already mentioned I am a solo traveller and have been for many years. But the actual area as you exit the station is very off putting. It seems to be the meeting hub for many "characters" in the area. If it hadn't been for the crowds around the Xmas markets I would certainly not have ventured far. I realise the hotel have no control over this...but its an observation.

Secondly
I feel as though my room could have benefitted from having a safe and a comfy chair rather than just a stool.
But these things would not stop me booking this hotel again.

Room tip: Ask for an inside facing room for quiet nights. I had 107 which was perfect

Value for money lodging Berlin

Rather surprised at this hotel. Lots of young people using the place pre school , tidy basic but clean. The open buffet breakfast was very good, plenty to choise from . The staff at reception were very avarage and could have been more knowledagble of the surrounding places to visit.
