When we decided to go Italian for dinner with our Singapore friends in Bavaria Germany, it was indeed a pleasant surprise to find the restaurant my husband had randomly picked, turned out to be authentic Italian and very good. Ristorante Prego is a cosy, smallish place where one can take time in savouring good food without being hurried and really Enjoy!!! The service also deserves mention. It was a one man show looking after the entire floor of diners. The waiter was all over the place running from table to table and yet was able to give all diners his individual attention. The two dishes that can be recommeded, and both very good are:
1) Divers Antipasti ( for 4 persons at €66 )
2) Saltimbocca Alla ( pan fried veal at €25.50 )
The food was washed down with a bottle of 2011 Pegrandi Amarone della Valpolicella which was very good, and in relation to quality at a very reasonable price of € 62. Unfortunately we were not able to have a second bottle as the first was also the last . We settled for a Sardinian Wine the 2010 Is Arenas Riserva costing €39
Ristoranti Prego is a little way outside the city centre of Nuremberg but is certainly worth the trip to dine there.
