MVV - Munich Tram System

All trains and underground seemed to always be on time (which cannot be said for most European cities), announcements made in English after German plus simple to use once used a few times - bare in mind that its the train direction that is needed!

Could be slightly cleaner and a lot of the underground system was like stepping back in time.

The whole system is easy to use and very well integrated, we bought tickets from our hotel reception we advised us on the most economical way to do this, there were 8 of us and we ended up with two group tickets, which cost around 24euros for 3 days. Did have a problem on one day the routes of teh 16, 17 and 18 trams did not match teh tour guides or tour maps we had, but only small issue as we realised quite quickly

Fastest way to travel all around the city. Very clear metro with a lot of rides during the day (on every 2-3 minutes).

There are 2 subway systems in Munich. The S-Bahn and the U-Bahn. With a "Day" ticket you can use both subways as much as you want. There are different "Rings" or borders as far as distances are concerned. The most reasonable cost is 6.70 Euros for the "inner ring". This is the most common as most of the interesting sights are within this area. They are clean and the announcements are made in both German and English.
