Well set out zoo, with lost to see, although if the weather is poor lots of the animals will hide. Feeding time for the lions was an experience, penguins are as amazing as ever, whichever zoo you see them in, as are the elephants. Some of the enclosures seem a little small, although it does look as though there is a fair bit of construction going on, hopefully to improve this. Be warned that credit cards aren't accepted and my UK mastercard debit card also wasn't OK. There is an ATM at the entrance if you need cash. There are plenty of food areas, which seemed well priced and with good variety, plus you can take your own food as well. Once the improvements are carried out this could be a very good zoo.

I was visiting Munich during it's spell of -15 degrees and deep snow, and visited this zoo on one of those days - it turned out to be the best decision! No people around at all, and because of the cold it seemed most of the animals gathered inside where you could see them really well! The walk around is well interspersed with indoor animal sections and for €15 this was well worth the cold trip out - I wouldn't rule out visiting in deep winter! We spent about 3/4 hours there and that was with us speeding around because of the cold - such a good zoo in a lovely setting!

This Zoo is one of my favourites in in Europe. It is really nice for a weekend walk, very aired and animals really seem happy here. If you have time, it is worth a visit.

Like other reviews, this zoo was more like a park than a zoo. Expansive grounds with many enclosures that were both informational and interesting. The enclosures were well maintained, clean and bigger than many other zoos I’ve been to. It was winter and snowing when I went and it truly felt like another world as it wasn’t too crowded and all the trees and grounds were covered with powdery snow. Yet, could still see many animals in their enclosures suited to their climate and environment. Highly recommend for all ages!
