Great location to visit Old Town area. We grabbed a nearby Bus 100 to Residenz and National Theater (Odeonplatz) and then onto Bavarian National Museum. Used streetcar south to Isator and walked through Marienplatz to Hofbrauhaus. Enjoyed a beer, rhubarb steudel, the ompah band and bustling crowd. Journeyed onward on foot to Frauenkirche and had dinner at Augustiner Restaurant. Tired feet appreciated a lift homeward from nearby transportation options.
An easy five minute walk to the train station. We opted not to have breakfast there since it was easier to grab something to eat on the early train to Salzburg.
Was a bit worried about the elevator as I had read reviews that said it worked 75% of the time. Thank goodness it worked while we were there! We were on the 7th floor and had a triple room. Little did I realize that the two main beds were up a steep narrow staircase inside the room!! The third bed was a pullout couch (very comfortable). The refrigerator was nice to keep drinks cool. The weather was unusually warm for early May but the windows opened and let in a nice cool breeze. The window in the upper bedroom was a ceiling window which tilted to catch the breeze. We had to get up in the middle of the night to shut it when it started raining on us in bed!!More
