For a certain reason we stay at this hotel every 2 to 3 months. As always, this hotel experience was quite satisfying. However, unlike on other occasions (including the one we are having right now), the internet Wi-Fi connection was virtually close to none. I don't know what happened--we now stay just a few meters away from that room, and WiFi works perfectly.

This Hotel is a mess. Total disaster.
I checked in after a long day of work and the room was terrible. The smell and the bed was the worst bed I have ever slept in. The bathdroom no style at all. Like those old ones really ugly and not confortable. The lady at the check in was nice but that is not enough when everything else is a mess. I would NO recommend this hotel at all. The rooms are not like the pictures. The pillows are really bad quality too.

We stayed at the Mercure in central Stuttgart for 2 nights as part of a trip to the Sting Concert.

Parking was not super clear, but we found that we could park anywhere in the clean underground carpark.

We found that the reception was pretty good, although I was a tad surprised at the lack of information on restaurants in the local area. We did find one basically next door, which was a bonus, but good luck.

We had booked and paid for a double room, which turned out to have two single beds, which we were told was what a double room was.. That was odd, but we were moved to a room with two single beds moved together, but that was fine.

The room was fairly basic but was OK. It did only have one chair though, which was a bit odd.

The room was clean and tidy as was the bathroom.

Breakfast was excellent, but the bar facilities were fairly limited and basic.

I would rate it is follows

Room Quality 8:10 (for the price)
Breakfast was 8:10
Parking was 8:10
Beds were a 6:10
Location 8:10

Return-ability and recommendation would be a 7:10

We stayed at the Mercure in June 2017 in the middle of a musical bus tour. all booking arrangements, and payment, were made by the tour operator.

Overall we gave it a 4. Apart from the noisy street below and the non functioning TV it would be a 5

Location --- depends on the purpose of your visit. Nothing "touristy" nearby. Not near downtown but lots of offices nearby. Better suited to the business or convention traveller.

Check-In --- they had all our key cars made up for large group. Checked us in about an hour early, before the announced time of 3:00.

The building ... looks fairly new guess 20 years or less
Halls / public spaces clean --- CAUTION if you like taking the stairs you can only go down. The doors on the floor landings do not open from the stairs side.

The room ... #324
Size - medium. With the king bed there is enough, but only enough room
Bathroom - all modern and in good working order. Fairly large shower but no tub.
The bed - good mattress
Noise - Noisy! Front of building, street noise and light rail station across the street. Train noise till the wee hours then starts again at about 5:00.
Cleanliness - great

Amenities ...
Internet - yes, worked well
Coffee maker - no, but a kettle and tea
Fridge - no
TV, channels - could not get the TV to work

Breakfast - great, big buffet, gluten free and soy
Dinner in on site restaurant - they put on an early dinner mid afternoon so we could get to our concert, thank you!
Special diet - no issues

Tips to get a good room: avoid the front of the building (train noise)

My husband is often in Stuttgart for Business and his preferred choice is the Mercure city center. I join him once in a while for an extended weekend stay and I looooooove this place. The rooms are well designed with smart commodities like power outlet at the bedside table, makeup mirror in the bathroom and 2 closet areas to hang clothes. The breakfast is tasty, served until 11 on the weekend which allows for sleeping-in plenty. The buffet area is well stocked throughout service, it's tasty and not too busy (especially on a Saturday). Having Milaneo shopping mall next door is a real treat too :). Love this place
