My wife and I spent an evening at the Hotel Villa Marstall during our recent trip to Germany and our stay in Heidelberg. I think the only hiccup we had was figuring out how/where to park outside to drop off our luggage until a staff member readily assisted us. From that point forward it was smooth sailing. Every member of the staff that we encountered was warm and friendly. They provided us with maps and instructions to everywhere we wanted to go as well as personal suggestions and recommendations.

We had a beautiful room at the top floor with a view of the river and a view of the castle (room 40). The room itself was not very tall due to the sloped roof, but it provided us with amazing views and was surprisingly quiet with the street below.

Breakfast in the morning was in the beautiful cellar area. It was a light buffet with some cheeses, meats, breads and fruit as well as eggs and bacon. Nothing heavy, but more than enough to settle your stomach. Besides, with all of the restaurants in the city, you don't want to fill up at just one!

I truly hope we have an opportunity to visit again and if we do, I'll be planning to book again at the Hotel Villa Marstall!

Room Tip: Room 40 provided us with a view of both the river and is the only room with a view of the castle.

We had a short stay here, but it was wonderfull. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and clean. The staff is nice and helpfull. The location is perfect (in alt-stad, city center). We were able to rest and recharge after a long day. I would come back!
The only 'down side': there is no parking. But they have a deal with a parking garage at 600m from the hotel. For a decent price (8€ -24h).

We stayed at Villa Marstall this week. What a beautiful little hotel! The staff was very accommodating and graciously saw to our every need. They made wonderful restaurant recommendations and made great suggestions of things to see and do. They recommended a little 40 minute open air bus tour to get us oriented to the city. We don't normally do those kind of things, but it was great and we were so glad we did it.

The breakfast was wonderful - plenty to eat and a nice variety for every taste - fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, wonderful breads, nice meat and cheese selection. The breakfast staff was very friendly, ready to help and were quite attentive.

Even the housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. Very considerate of our coming and going. The rooms in this hotel are really large - unusual for a European hotel - our room had a gorgeous view of the river. The hotel sits right on the Neckar river.

The hotel is located in the old town part of Heidelberg and is so convenient to everything you would want to see. Shops and restaurants are close by. Additionally, directly across the tiny street from the hotel entrance faces, is a lovely, solemn and poignant memorial to the Jewish Synagogue destroyed and burnt to the ground by Nazi Storm Troopers in November 1938.
The bathroom was large with very modern fixtures. The hair dryer was great! It was just like the one I brought with me. It had 3 speeds/temps, a cold shot button and a directional blower attachment, certainly better than the ones that just blast air at you and at one temperature.

I highly recommend this hotel. There are only 18 rooms, the prices are quite reasonable. Book early to ensure getting a room there. You will NOT regret staying there!

Room Tip: I recommend getting a room with a view of the river!

Wonderful location, stylish rooms, great breakfast in a very original environment. Personnel extremely friendly and helpful, in short : a place to feel at home. Especially recommended for those who are looking for something else than the usual uninspired and business oriented large hotels.

Room Tip: Great view from room 31

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Marstall. The views from our room were stunning and the hotel is in an excellent location, very close to the Old Bridge. Breakfast in the cellar was good and the staff were very helpful. Definitely recommend!
