Excellent Hotel. Friendly staff. Top class meals. Good transport links. Great bikes and cycle paths available for touring. The area has good tourist attractions. Baden- Baden is accessible by local rail and bus links. Highly recommended.

The owners and staff are all friendly and helpful. The food was very good and well-presented and there were choices if we didn't want one of the courses. Our room was large, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The swimming pool is very pleasant - light and no smell of chlorine. Being able to borrow bikes and e-bikes free was a great addition.

We spent a week there with our U3A-group and everybody fell in love with this place. The rooms are tastefully furnished and spacious, the breakfast buffet is excellent and the 5 course evening meals were superb. The spa invites to a relaxing afternoon, e.g. after a walk (decent sized swimming pool and separate sauna area with 4 sauna rooms, rest area and massage chairs). Make use of the free bike hire (including e-bikes). The situation is ideal, just 3minutes from the S-Bahn (fast tram/train service from Karlsruhe to Freudenstadt and beyond). In fact, because of the mandatory guest card, which entitles you to free use of the S-Bahn, you don't really need a car there.
But most importantly, the Frey family and all their staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much for them - and they even try their school English to write out the evening menu.
A fantastic hotel in an equally great area of the Northern Black forest.

This family run hotel is welcoming, spotlessly clean, well positioned for public transport & has great facilities. Our room was spacious & had a sitting room overlooking the garden. The Wellness centre pool & sauna were very much appreciated after a day's walking or sight seeing. The breakfast buffet was varied & plentiful. The evening meal menus were superb, & the food was presented beautifully. The staff were invariably helpful. A great week.

Room Tip: Garden view rooms quieter

This is a very high quality family run hotel offering friendly relaxed levels of service in a village, well located to tour and walk in the Black forest, they take pride in pleasing their guests, all at a very reasonable price.

The rooms are immaculate and spacious, ours had a separate lounge, and most have balconies.

We had a large group booking for walkers, they provided us with a six course dinner in their excellent restaurant and a superb buffet breakfast, one day they provided a guided walk to a hill hut or bothy where sandwiches, wine and snaps were provided as a surprise lunch time extra.

It features a lovely indoor pool with spa and saunas.

The mandatory guest pass is also a free ticket for the local public transport including the hourly service on the nearby electric railway running the length of the valley from what appears to be your own personal little railway station a hundred yards away. You could stay a week here without the need of a car, free electric assisted cycles are provided.

The hotel is outstanding in all that it does with no negatives, though a faster toaster at breakfast would be welcome by the English!!

Room Tip: Rear west facing room with balcony
