Description: The restaurant, formerly known as "La Raclette" has definitely found his fine reputation with the new head Olivier Nuret. It opens every evening (except Mondays) from 19:00 and welcomes you, whether you are hotel guests or not, in an authentic and warm atmosphere. On the menu, you can choose from homemade appetizers, selected meats, various fondues or course the famous "Raclette old" that made the reputation of the house: the squeegee is delicately browned under large ovens is served at the plate, as tradition requires. This is also the only place in Val d'Isere where you can eat this way. For the younger ones (under 7 years), nothing beats our special "Children's menu" or even better, half-priced specialities adapted to children.

As L'Aancher had such good reviews and we were a party of 10 we pre booked a table prior to our ski trip 13th to 20th December, to cover the chefs night off in our chalet.

We were delighted to find out the restaurant was in fact opposite our chalet.

Unfortunately, this is a basic review (time restricted) but I felt it worth adding my "excellent" rating to the system as this restaurant clearly deserves the position.

The food was simplu perfect and by far the best we have ever had in Val Disere, please bare in mind this is my 7th or 8th trip to Val over the last few years.

Try the Chips, they are the best I have ever had

We went on chalet night off and they fit us in at very short notice. We had a lovely corner table seat and ordered starters and the steak sharer main. The starters were huge, the cheese pancake and foie gras were very tasty. The steak main came with two sides and sauces. We were well and truly stuffed with very good reasonably priced delicious food.

We went here on our first night after a long day travelling and it wes bliss.
The waiter although busy took time to explain the menu and wine list to us. I can't remember the name of what we ordered but it was different cheese and accompaniments that we fried on a hot plate. Delicious!

Even though not located in the centre of the village, the small walk or 2 minutes free bus ride to L'Avancher is well worth it. Great friendly service by Momo and his team, lovely food, good value for money, what more to ask for in Val d'Isère? A hidden gem, a must try on your list! :-)

One of the best meals I have ever eaten. Good value. I wanted to lick the plate. The only annoyance was a photographer wanted to take our photo. Otherwise everything about the place oozed class. It is a little walk from the centre of the town. We went in Feb 2014 in a blizzard which made arriving in the warm atmosphere even more rewarding. A MUST !

Thank minneme
