Description: The restaurant, formerly known as "La Raclette" has definitely found his fine reputation with the new head Olivier Nuret. It opens every evening (except Mondays) from 19:00 and welcomes you, whether you are hotel guests or not, in an authentic and warm atmosphere. On the menu, you can choose from homemade appetizers, selected meats, various fondues or course the famous "Raclette old" that made the reputation of the house: the squeegee is delicately browned under large ovens is served at the plate, as tradition requires. This is also the only place in Val d'Isere where you can eat this way. For the younger ones (under 7 years), nothing beats our special "Children's menu" or even better, half-priced specialities adapted to children.

We went here on our first night after a long day travelling and it wes bliss.
The waiter although busy took time to explain the menu and wine list to us. I can't remember the name of what we ordered but it was different cheese and accompaniments that we fried on a hot plate. Delicious!

Even though not located in the centre of the village, the small walk or 2 minutes free bus ride to L'Avancher is well worth it. Great friendly service by Momo and his team, lovely food, good value for money, what more to ask for in Val d'Isère? A hidden gem, a must try on your list! :-)

One of the best meals I have ever eaten. Good value. I wanted to lick the plate. The only annoyance was a photographer wanted to take our photo. Otherwise everything about the place oozed class. It is a little walk from the centre of the town. We went in Feb 2014 in a blizzard which made arriving in the warm atmosphere even more rewarding. A MUST !

Gluten free items marked 'SG' (Sans Gluten) on standard menu. Local french food nicely done and reasonable priced for val d Isere. We had cold meat platter, steak frites and fondue and salad. All nice and tasty. Generous portions.
Family friendly and pleasant staff.

This was our 4th year in a row on this hotel and the 2nd with a new owner( he took over in 2012/2013). We have some mixed feelings about eating in the same hotel you stay, but this is definitely not the fact regarding the L'Avancher.
Twice we ate there; the first and the last evening, and it was delicious. So nicely prepared, perfectly made and a superb staff serving us as well as the other guests. The possibility to share a starter we often forget, but it may be smart. We had a 3-course meal and it can be too much even if the food is perfect i.e."the rump steak" is very, very good.
Go there, but in our opinion; drop the raclette, fondue and test some of the other dishes instead. Nothing wrong with those, but the other dishes are more exciting we think.
We hope you agree with us.

Any thing we "miss"?
Yes, the wine glass for a rich Chateauneuf - we think it deserves larger glasses than they did give us.
