“A cozy place with comforting food.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2012

This is one restaurant that my in-laws always request to go to when they come to visit. It is very cozy-- decorated like a rustic alpine chalet. I don't particularly like fondue-- I find it very heavy, but everyone else really enjoyed it. There is always more than enough, and no one goes away hungry. Since I don't like fondue, I ordered another cheese dish--tartiflette, a delicious casserole of potatoes, bacon, onions, and white wine topped with a crust of Reblochon cheese. It was fantastic, as was the shot of genepi, a "digestif" to help with the heavy cheesy but oh so delicious meal. A great restaurant! I highly recommend reservations, especially during the winter months.

“Fun, albeit slightly cheesy evening”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 November 2011

Went here with a local friend who'd wanted to try this for some time. Even on a Monday night it was crowded, though that's partly due to the rather compressed table set up. Lactose intolerant folks might look elsewhere, as cheese is what this place is all about. Fondue, raclette, croutes, you name it. I got the impression that due to the volume of business they see, the staff were less about service and more about efficiency.

Our fondue was fine, but given that there are so many people and heating elements in a small space, it gets very warm very quickly. Dressing in layers is a good call here. As is bringing a healthy appetite.

“Wonderful way to pass an evening with friends”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 November 2011

We had a delightful evening at La Fondue. It is a quaint and attractive restaurant, crowded and lively. The waitresses were friendly and relaxed -- and they took the time to explain the menu -- and the concept -- to us. We shared two fondue pots, a salad and a tray of cold cuts amongst us. It was more than enough. Indeed, we ran out of steam before we ran out of cheese! The Blue Cheese fondue was wonderful; the cold cuts only so-so. We had just enough room for a chocolate fondue and it was a nice way to round out the meal. Not overly expensive, easy-going, and with lots of food.

“When there's a queue of locals outside late in the evening, you know you're in the right place.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2010

"Fondue Imperial" is the dish to go for, melted cheese, crunchy baguette cubes, cold meats, green salad and a small dish of hot cubed potato with bacon and cream. Add a bottle of local wine and you're all set for a hearty, tasty evening meal. Staff are attentive, atmosphere is friendly and laid back. Complimentaty shot of Chartreuse after your meal goes down well!

“Average fondue, but great for big parties”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 March 2010

This location has your average fondue...nothing exceptional. It seems like they may use a powder in their recipes, as it doesn't anywhere near something one would make at home. The resto is quite long, and can seat large parties. Good for a group outing.
