Very nice, comfortable and clean chalet in the direct vicinity of Chamonix !
Stunning views of the Bossons glacier and surrounding summits.
An excellent place to chill and rest during active mountaineering summer holidays.
And not to forget...great food !
Definitely a place to recommend :-)
I stayed at Chalet Tissieres for four nights in July 2012 while on a climbing holiday. It is positioned in an ideal spot, just a short walk into Chamonix centre through beautiful woodland. The atmosphere is very friendly, staff are nice, rooms clean and spacious. Fantastic views. would definitely recommend.
Great visit. Our best accomodation and highlight of our Tour du Mont Blanc. Great location just below the glacier, great meals, host & hostess were delightful and the living area was so inviting. Easy bus ride to/from downtown Chamonix. Loved the fireplace and the international visitors we met.
I visited Chalet Tissieres in July 2012, because my partner was working in Chamonix and staying there.
The chalet lies in Les Bossons in Chamonix and has a wonderful view on the glacier Bossons and on the mountain range. You can see Aguille du Midi, le Dru, Dome du Gouter, and more. At sunset, the glacier turns Orange, hence the name Ice and Orange.
I had a wonderful time. Right from the start, I felt very welcome and at home. The cook Christine made beautiful food, even for me, while I have a lot of allergies. One of the owners Renske is always happy to share her tips about Chamonix and the area.
I definitely want to visit this place again!
Terribly impressed - a place you are truly cared for by caring people in a beautifully renovated old chalet just outside Les Bossons.
The short list:
- GREAT food - a fantastic chef this season, "nice restaurant" quality
- Supercomphy living/dining room, warm fire stocked with logs in nice social environment with your fellow Skiiers for the inevitable evening chat and games
- hot tub to stair at the stars
- great ski area advice and a bus to drop you at your choice each day
and decent size rooms with nice beds (Better than mine at home..).
Seems very well insulated for heat and sound, though not to many hard partiers when we stayed.
We brought along our 1 year old, and while not "child proof", the owners have their own children so it isn't a house of dangers.
One of those places I hesitate to recommend as surely it will soon be booked all year round (good for them!)
