A beautiful chalet, plenty of space for a mix of groups. We stayed with 9 adults split across the 5 generous bedrooms, each with our own lovely en suite. Extremely well equipped, including dressing gowns and slippers. The hot tub was an added bonus after a hard day on the slopes. The ski bus was a short walk away and really convenient. Chamonix town is also reachable either by bus or a 15 minute walk in, we did both ways several times.
The nearest bar is the Chamonix Micro Brewery, this gets really busy so book ahead. Food is ok but better restaurants in the centre.
We would stay here again and do recommend the chalet most highly.
I have to start with Jayne (the owner). Her prompt responses to email and text made everything so much simpler.
We had 11 in the chalet, so an extra blow up bed was arranged, the first one had issues, but was replaced the same day we notified her of the problem. This and 2 of the rooms being set up as doubles instead of twins (again sorted the same day), were the only blemishes on a near perfect holiday.
In our group, we had 11 people, inc 3 couples. (hence the blow up bed needed).
Starting from the outside in - there is parking for 2 cars, although we only had one, and used it once the whole time we were there, as the number 2 bus is literally a 2minute walk, and the centre of town is only 15minute away, so we didn't even use the bus.
The nearest slopes from beginners, is also a less than a 30minute walk, in trainers, not ski boots. Otherwise, bus #2 for everything else.
Back to the chalet, the hot tub if designed for 6, although 7 could fit at a push. Temperature wise, expect around 32-35' whatever the weather is outside.
Indoors - in the basement, the ski room is more than adequate for 11 pairs of skis/snowboards. the and heat rack is effective, but the heated floor does the trick.
There are also 2 bedrooms down here, but there are funny door entrances, so best to leave these to the children, or shorter adults.
Ground floor - the kitchen isn't the widest, so you'll only ever fit 2 people in it, but it has everything your need and want to be able to cook for everyone, or 11 in our case. A couple of bigger pans and sharp knives would be of benefit.
Otherwise, the dining table was more than adequate, the sofas comfy, the surround sound TV/Audio are really effective and the fireplace, really finishes off that warm fuzzy feeling when you get back, from skiing, or whatever you do.
Top 3 rooms are huge, although if you're 6 foot or more, don't sleep in the attic, the shower is a bit low and you hit your head on the ceiling.... a lot. Keep to the 2nd floor.
During our stay we had wind, rain, snow, sun, hot and cold, but the chalet was the safe hub of everything and was our little home for a week.
You are close to the train line, which does shake the chalet a little, but once 4-5 trains have passed through, you don't notice it.
Just like to say my piece about my stay at chalet cristalliers
First off the contact with Jayne and Jonathon was second to none, after various emails and phone calls I felt as if I knew them personally.
They genuinely couldn't have done any more to make our stay easier.
The chalet its self is fantastic, everything and anything you want or need is there plus more.
The views are from it are brilliant, my wife an I opted for the attic room where you open your eyes to the fantastic view of the aiguille du midi every morning
It's situated in a quiet 10 minute walk from town which even after a days skiing is easy to walk, if however you don't want to walk the bus stop is a minute walk from the chalet.
There was eight of us staying, five adults a teenager and two children under five, however the chalet never felt as if there was more than 2 or 3 people in it, every room has its own en suite and TV which gave everyone their own personal space to chill.
When it was time for us to get together it was dinner time, the kitchen was fully equipped with every tool you could imagine for cooking and a fantastic big dining table for us all to sit at.
The fire was a dream too, can't beat a lovely warm log Fire when it's minus 10 outside.
Then when we could brave it a dash for the hot tub, what a great feeling, after a full day skiing and cooking a feast to just chill with a glass of champagne looking up to the star studded sky.
Overall we had a fantastic stay in a home from home feel chalet which is a god send when you've been hard on the slopes all day.
I'd highly recommend it to anyone interested in going and happy to answer any questions.
Thanks again, Johnny
We stayed in the chalet for 1 week during xmas 2016 and had a great time in the house with grandparents and kids. We were 10 Adults and 4 kids and no problems accommodating everyone. Living room and kitchen is very spacious and great with the fire in the evenings. All bedrooms are equipped well and have good size en suites. 1st floor rooms are more suited for families and ground floor rooms more for couples. Jacuzzi and garden was a nice plus. Ski boot room or dry room very handy for wet clothes and boots. All necessaries there with washing/dry machine and other utilities. More towels where provided during the stay which was great. Some sort of axe would be great to get smaller wood for the fire. Unfortunately we couldn't get any nespresso coffee capsules for the machine in any of the supermarkets in Chamonix. Bring a pack if you have some at home. There is also a cafetiere. Very well equipped kitchen as well with plenty of pots, pans and plates. Nice touch is the self cleaning ovens.
Owners also organized a Christmas tree for a small fee which just completed the package.
We've been coming to Chamonix for years and this has been the best blend of comfort and location we've found. Perfectly placed for walking in to Chamonix, a very short walk to the bus and with wonderful views of the mountains. We came with another family and there was plenty of room for us to hang out together or for everyone to find a place to chill out. The owners were very helpful with all of our questions. I would highly recommend this chalet to anyone coming to Chamonix.
