This hotel is a short walk from the center of town. We were in a building in the back- totally quiet, modern. Beautiful bathroom and good size, tastefully decorated room. Lovely outdoor pool we used every afternoon. Lovely breakfast served in the courtyard. Snacks and drinks available around the pool.

Room Tip: Rooms are in a couple of buildings. We like the modern one across the courtyard.

My wife and I are on a two week trip around France. We have carefully researched each destination and where to stay. A few days ago, I found a great deal on the website for this hotel. Note that this deal was (and still is as of right now!) advertised on the website of the hotel itself rather than any third party site.

The deal was a great price for dinner, champagne, a room, breakfast and an hour in the spa. I booked this as a treat for us as it was such a good deal. I received an email confirming both the price and the details of the offer.

We drove six hours today, planning our day to arrive just before dark as we don't like to drive at night in France.

The lady on reception who said she was the owner refused to honour our booking.

She said that it was a website "bug."

She gave us the choice of accepting the same price but without 3 course dinner and champagne or we could cancel.

I patiently explained the situation and showed the lady the confirmation email.

She would not change tack. Even though we had booked through her website, as she does not manage the site herself, she accepts no responsibility for what we booked on that site and seemingly has no empathy whatsoever for our situation.

We pointed out that we don't have the budget to pay for dinner as well as the room (even though that's not the point) and she still did not care.

After fifteen minutes of trying to reason with this lady, and her becoming increasingly rude, we decided to leave.

The arguments she tried to make in her favour were:

1) I don't manage the website, it's a website bug.
- Maybe so but it's YOUR website and if you don't stand behind it, what confidence can your customers have in their bookings?

2) A member of staff called to discuss the spa booking time and didn't mention a dinner.
- We don't dispute this at all but why would a customer be expected to assume that a call to confirm a spa booking that doesn't mention a dinner means that there is no dinner? This is absurd.

3) Following the chat about the spa, we were sent a second email to confirm those details. That didn't mention a three course meal either!
- Again, why would we expect that the dinner not being mentioned in a spa booking email means our dinner is not available?!

Frankly, this woman's approach to customer service is ridiculous. We booked in good faith. There was a problem we were not aware of that was on her side. Therefore, she should have dealt with the problem rather than fobbing us off and being rude.

I can't believe that this woman owns a hotel that's still in business!

the rooms are perfectly designed. neutral but everything well thought for a traveller.
Absolutely great is the parking possibility! The hotel is perfectly located in a 2 minutes
walking distance to the center.
there was a wonderful breakfast buffet. you just must come early because later they don´t refresh what´s gone!
the service is more or less unpersonal but ok. my room was quiet and the bed sheets made of cotton - this is important for me because I can´t sleep well in the polyester sheeds. the room was spotless, everything worked perfectly.
I would come back because its a useful place to explore around.

Beautifully decorated in neutral tones, this hotel is a perfect base for walking into town for a wide choice of eating and drinking. (Excellent wine bar called 21 chai with delicious fondu and meats. ) loads to do and a swimming pool and friendly staff to return to at the end of the day.

The hotel and courtyard were gorgeous in romanesque style. The gardens well maintained and tastefully laid out. The rooms were very comfortable and modern and pool area very nice and welcoming after a long cycle ride in the July heat. Loved it!
