My houseband and our 3 kids from age 9-17 years old, had great days at Villa Calanque De Samena. The apartment is well equipped and the garden is so cozy. It is quiet, friendly environment, with small but pleasant beach right by the house . Easy bus routes into town.
Sylvie and Lionel were very helpful with guidance and advice.

The villa is situated on the relatively quiet western tip of Marseille. 5 minutes walk from the tiny but delightful little beach 'calanque de samena' great for swimming and snorkelling (lots of beach gear and snorkels provided). There are a couple of restaurants in walking distance which we didn't try but are apparently good. There's onstreet parking.
The villa has a lovely homely feel with a touch of the eclectic in the decor. The hosts have put a lot of thought into providing everything you might need to make your stay comfortable. The kids loved relaxing in the hammock in the garden under the shade of the fig tree, I loved cycling down to the local boulangerie for delicious pastries and my partner enjoyed the fact you could change the language on the tv's movie channels to English! (Kids figured that one out for us). The beds were comfortable, everything was nice and clean and the only small negative was that when it's quiet early in the morning you can hear the traffic passing outside the bedroom window.
Sylvie and Lionel were fantastic hosts, always available if we needed anything and really helpful in advising the best places to go and things to do. Thanks Lionel for advising the best route home to avoid the traffic jams!!
We loved Cassis and the calanques are stunning.
We had a wonderful time, one week wasn't enough...
