First problem: the rental owner's local employee did not respond to e-mails so we did not get information on where to pick up the key, how to access the gated community, and we did not get the chance to ask for details on the rental (e.g. does it have a hairdryer, own parking space etc.). The owner's response was "don't worry, he will contact you", but no response came before the travel day and NOT UNTIL we called the Holiday Lettings office, who started making calls. After this we got a response e-mail with "Dramatics" as the subject.. So, apparently we were being overly dramatic wanting to know where to pick up the key and ask about the apartment details before actually travelling. In our experience, the key pick up location can be in another address, so we felt that our questions were legitimate and that we should have got answers before travelling, and that we should have got a response without bad attitude.
Second problem: despite the ad info, there was no air-conditioning in the apartment. For us that was a deal breaker. We did not want to rent a place without air-con in South France in July-August! We were offered a fan.. Come on, that is not the same!
Third problem: the wifi did not appear in the pc list of wireless networks.
Fourth problem: there was a broken fridge being stored in the living area. Why would a property owner use their apartment as a dumping ground for large broken home appliances?
Finally something positive: the view from the apartment was lovely, the apartment looked clean and the pool outside looked nice.
But, as the apartment did not match the ad, we did not stay in this apartment. We had to find new accommodation on the spot. It was expensive and inconvenient, as it was something like 11 pm. We were tired and travelling with a child. Really a stressful situation. I hope no one else has this kind of terrible experience with this apartment again.
