“Avoid this like the plague.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 December 2011

Yes, it's near the train station and thus easy transport to the airport. Yes, it offers free breakfast and lunch. But the room is run down, in a tired neighbourhood which doesn't feel safe to walk alone it, and it smelled. All in all not bad if you plan on spending all of your time out of the hotel. Unfortunately shortly after I ate their free sandwich boxed lunch was the day that I had the worst case of food poisoning ever. Sadly I could not leave my small, stinky room. Pay more for a nicer hotel, this is not the place you want to be.

Room Tip: Don't go here.

I LOVED this hotel. I would definitely stay there again when I return to Nice, and I would recommend it to everyone I know. I loved it because it met and exceeded my expectations and it was a great value for the money.

I paid I think around $85 (US dollars) a night. This rate included free wireless internet in the rooms (no password needed); a buffet breakfast; and a boxed lunch.
The hotel is only a short 3-minute walk (very easy) to the main train station in Nice, which is why I originally booked it.

The hotel was tastefully decorated and recently renovated. I found the breakfast room to be quite tasteful. Our room was one of the smaller rooms on the floor, but that was fine. It had a built in desk/shelf combo with a flat screen tv above it (playing at least one English channel – BBC World) and a little balcony. The beds were clean and comfortable. I had absolutely no issues with the cleanliness of the room. They seemed recently renovated – nothing was rundown. The bathrooms as well seemed new and well appointed, with beautiful stone tiling and great water pressure.

In an effort to save energy, the hallways are always dark – and you have to feel around for the light switch to turn on the lights.

The included breakfast was very good – hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fresh fruit juice, fruit salad, cereal, cheese & ham, croissants (chocolate and plain) and a selection of breads. There was also a high-tech machine the brewed coffee, espresso, hot chocolate and hot water for tea.

The boxed lunch was a welcome surprise. It included your choice of either a chicken or tuna salad sandwich. I only had the chicken but it was quite good with chunks of chicken breast on multi-grain bread. The boxed lunch also included chips, apple slices and a bottle of water.
The staff was also extremely helpful and accommodating. We had to leave early, so they opened up the breakfast room a half an hour early for us. They were also very helpful in asking us where we were going for the day and giving us recommendations and maps to assist us.

Really, I cannot recommend this hotel more highly!

this hotel is a good 10 minute walk from the train station (right turn when you come out of the station) even when you have luggages to push around. The room given to us was quite small but clean. Bathroom is clean. Good buffet breakfast and the packed lunch is a plus. They dont serve lunch or dinnerin the hotel, but there are restaurants nearby. Location is not far from the shopping area or you can take the tram (about 15 mins leisurely walk from hotel) and see the Old towns. Hotel staff are friendly and can communicate in English.

I agree with the many other reviews, this hotel is good value for money with excellent front of house staff. Our room was very small but had everything we needed, however we struggled with no floor space and two suitcases. Its no more than five minutes walk along the main street to the railway station which was why we chose the hotel in the first place, based on previous Trip Advisor Reviews. Its a lovely, leisurely wander down to the old town and all the tourist attractions but don't miss the amazing Russian cathedral only a couple of blocks away.

As per other reviews very friendly front desk - clean hotel.A lovely touch is the packed lunch with good quality items.Breakfast is fine again with good quality ham and cheese.Rooms although small are clean and well kept.Location is a brisk ten minute walk to the train station entrance ideal for monte Carlo and Cannes.Overall a nice hotel in a good location.

Room Tip: Stayed in room 207 at the back very quiet
