“Spotless, nicely equipped and well located apartment.”
Reviewed 1 June 2013 for a stay in May 2013

I want to commend Pebbles management for their customer-oriented operation which started with our inquiry by email about the apartment we were interested in. A response quickly came in informing us that the apartment of our choice was not available, but we could have another one, Camelia. Included was a reference to their web site containing very good descriptions of other Pebbles properties - their prices, surroundings, and transportation to them. We created our personal account and found even more details about the apartment, plus the payment schedule. We signed an agreement and made a deposit payment; after that we were receiving emails with timely reminders about the subsequent installment payments. Five days before our arrival, we received an email from our personal Pebbles representative, with her phone number and confirmation of our arrival time. ... Fast-forwarding to our arrival to Nice from USA ... We decided to take a bus from the airport, and were late by half an our for the meeting with our representative Elli, but she was very nice about that. In the apartment, she showed us all the amenities, explained how to use appliances, and told us about the nearby grocery shops, bakery, and such. In the apartment provided were necessities like soaps, shampoo, and even pellets for dishwasher and washing machine. There was a welcome basket with a bottle of wine, plenty of teas and grounded coffee that lasted to the rest of our 10-day stay, and other things like sugar and creamer. More importantly, they prepared a guest book with a write-up of what Elli told us in person, plus additional information useful for tourists like us. Pebbles provides concierge services, but as an alternative they included a phone number of a reliable taxi cab company - that greatly simplified making arrangements for getting to the airport for our 6:00 AM flight back home. Well done, Pebbles!

As to Nice itself (and Monaco, Cannes, and Villefranche-sur-Mer) - they are just beautiful. The weather, even with a couple of occasional cloudy days, was very pleasant. The location of the apartment was very accommodating, with the train station and Nice's old town within 15-minute walk. Our timing was good - just before the always crowded tourists season. However, staying in that entire area is not cheap, as in the case with eating out which can be very expensive. The fact that our stay there coincided with Grand Prix in Monaco and Cannes film festival only made everything more expensive, even the rental of our apartment was higher because of that. But my wife and I feel that our vacation on Côte d'Azur was worth every penny we spent there.

Liked best: Roomy, clean, fully equipped place; great, secure location; excellent communications and overall end-to-end process on the part of Pebbles.
Liked least: The only thing we could not find out from Pebbles was how non-EU tourists can get VAT refunds at the airport. But we do not really blame Pebbles for that because, evidently, they do not have too many USA customers.

“Spacious and comfortable”

Lovely apartment. The large hall makes it feel even more spacious than it appears in the photos. The air conditioning and the wi fi both worked well. There are a few bakeries and a large supermarket close by for getting supplies. The beach is a few minutes away. We indulged ourselves by using the Hi Beach a few times because we could book for the afternoon rather than for the whole day. The walk to the old town is pleasant and we felt the longer walk there was compensated for by our being closer to the station. The public transport system in Nice is wonderful. We used trams, buses and trains and found using them easy and cheap.
We could use only one of the two toilets as we were warned about problems with the other one blocking. This may have been fixed since our stay.

Unfortunately, the problem with the second toilet in Les Fleurs is on-going, but we are still working towards a solution. We hope this didn't impact your holiday too much. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to write this review, and we're certain that future guests will appreciate your comments about the local shops, the private beaches and transport. We hope you enjoyed your time in Nice, and look forward to seeing you again!
