I really liked the atmosphere of this hotel, 1920s chic with great service, beautiful views and good food. It is an easy stroll into the centre of Juan Les Pins and a longer walk (just over a mile) into the centre of Antibes. Quite expensive to start with, my only gripe with this hotel is that you have to hire the loungers on the private beach/terrace for the whole day at about £30 per person - that was annoying if you only wanted to sit on the beach for an hour after a day out.

Dear Guest,

first of all we would like to thank you for having chosen the Belles Rives as well as for your review.

We are delighted to read that your stay was up to your expectations.

It is true that, a little bit like everywhere on the French Riviera, the sunbeds at the beach are not included in the hotel rates. This is a choice that we made many years ago. Nevertheless, through our reservations centre, we always have packages that include the beach.

We look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you back.

Yours Sincerely,

The Management

Hotel Belles Rives has much to offer and it delivers. It has a gorgeous setting, an elegant historic building, excellent food, the kindest staff ever, a fantastic concierge.... The staff spoils you. It’s the kind of place that gets under your skin that you will want to return to year after year. F. Scott Fitzgerald lived in the Villa. Somehow the Belles Rives keeps its old world charm and adds modern, chic twists. The Fitzgerald Bar has the writer’s picture and the pictures of the contemporary winners of The Fitzgerald writing prize photographed while at the Belles Rives. The Belles Rives is a place you can curl up with a book for a quiet vacation or you can be busy with the many things to do in the area which the excellent concierge helps you visit. The food at the hotel is fantastic reflected in its Michelin Star and there are many other places to eat in the area too. You can stroll into Juan Les Pins for an ice cream and shopping or you can sit on a chaise at their stunning beach and have a swim or go waterskiing. There are many wonderful choices at the Belles Rives. That’s why once you know it, you will keep returning! After a couple of visits, Belles Rives starts to feel more like a private club than a hotel.

Dear Guest,

We cannot describe the joy of reading your review. Thank You!

Your words sound like the best present we could receive and we are thrilled to read that you enjoyed a beautiful vacation and that you could experience the true Belles Rives soul. We agree with you, we tend to consider Belles Rives as a unique place, where guests are welcomed as the host of Scott and Zelda's Villa Saint Louis. It is not a hotel for everyone but when guests understand the place, the history, the charm, they cannot wait to be back. Many of them have been coming for the last twenty, thirty years.

Summer after summer, we wait for them as if they were coming to their summer villa. Some of them are now friends...somehow members of the family or the "Belles Rives Society Club"...

We look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you back again and again.

Tender is the Belles Rives,

The Management

We arrived at the Belles Rives on the first full day of our holidays, we had booked into this hotel a month or so before and on arrival it was like stepping back in time.
This place just oozes class, from the fabulous doors at the entrance, the impressive entrance lobby with its wonderful Art Deco chairs, to the impressive piano bar and the beautiful terrace, if you closed your eyes you can imagine F.Scott Fitzgerald being right there, or maybe even the Great Mr Gatsby and Daisy as well.
From the terrace you walk down to the jetty, the polite staff showed us to our loungers, provided us with our towels, confirmed our lunch arrangements and asked if would like some drinks, the ice cold San Pellegrino as you lay back look out into the bay and the huge yachts as the sun pours down it is hard to think of anywhere more perfect.
The lunch at the Les Page was wonderful, service was good and the food was lovely, the only regret was that they had run out of Côte De Boeuf, but the veal, pasta and burgers were all very good.
Our two teenage boys also enjoyed the water sports, taking an inflatable ride around the bay which they said was fantastic, the staff of the water sports were very friendly and attentive.
So all in all we had a fabulous time, yes it was an expensive day at the beach but you have to remember you are paying for the surroundings and the service you are enjoying.
The Belles Rives has a class you very rarely find these days
We can not wait to return.

Dear Guest,

what a great review. Thank You!

We are delighted to read that you enjoyed Belles Rives at its best. It is true that once you arrive at the Belles Rives you have the impression of being back in the 30s.

The restaurant, the relaxed atmosphere, the water ski, the history are all ingredients of our hospitality philosophy since 1929 and we are happy to read your words. They are the best present we could receive.

All together, we look forward to welcoming you back very soon.

Yours Sincerely,

The Management

I visited Juan-Les-pins for a day and having seen photos and read about the town, decided I would like to visit the hotel for a drink with my friend.

The hotel is beautiful, the views are stunning and the drinks are priced exactly as I thought they would be and I enjoyed my glass of champagne.

The only thing that disappointed me a little bit was that we went down to the tables on the water edge and the entire section was empty, but were told weren’t allowed to just have a drink there as it was restaurant only.

If it was a busy day and there were lots of full tables of people eating, then I would totally understand being told this, but it wasn’t, it was very empty and I don’t think it would have been that much of an inconvenience to have allowed us to sit at one of the tables for just half an hour to enjoy a drink.

We then went back up the stairs where it was also empty and had our drink there. Another couple came in and chose to sit at the table besides us which was a table for 4 and they were asked to move because they were not a party of 4. Again, would understand if the bar was busy but it was empty. I just think the bar staff could have chosen their battles better and make the potential customers feel more welcome.

I’ve attached an image I took of the view where you can also clearly see that the tables were empty.

Dear Guest,

first of all we would like to thank you for your review as well as for having chosen the Belles Rives for dinner.

We are sorry to read that despite your appreciation for the place and the location, you got a negative impression.

Nevertheless, we would like to inform you that the tables in all our restaurants are allocated according to the date of the reservation. Basically "first booked, first served".

About the empty tables, at the beach in the evening we have only the restaurant section open. You can easily understand that it is difficult to open a closed space for a drink.

We look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you back.

Yours Sincerely,

The Management

I did not stay, but went to have dinner and watch the Sunset on the amazing terrace. Very pricey but worth every cent. From the sparkling pink champagne, to the piano playing singer, and the Michelin performance of the waiters scurrying with silver plate covers and one offering me magazines to read as I sat alone, the Hotel is a transport to another time and place. It’s the French Riviera the way you want it to be. Magical and dreamy as you imagined F. Scott Fitzgerald felt while he was busy writing the Great Gatsby here. I was lucky enough to tour the rooms even though I did not stay and the best one is facing the Med. I would get a balcony and drink as much pink champagne as possible. And the food was delicious seafood presented and flavored in a memorable, dreaming oh so French manner that I rarely found on the French Riviera. The desert was a fantastic show of fire that became strawberries flambee. And some anise cookies in a pale blue box to take home. A perfect night.
