We spent only two nights there but wish we could have spent a month. The room we had was the "Cliff Edge" one. It was very nice with a outstanding view. The restaurant was super at least a two star in my view. The pool and jacuzzi was very nice also. The best was the snorkeling on the reef that was just a hundred plus feet out in the ocean. They offer dive (SCUBA) training you can take there, next time.

My wife and I stayed at the Blue Star Dive Resort on the last week of our three week trip to the Phillippines from December 21 to 26th and it was a wonderful way to say good bye to the country.

The resort is situated on a cliff overlooking the ocean a few kilometres from the town of Anda. It is easy to get to town by trike or motorbike and it is fairly cheap.

The resort surpassed our expectations. It has a very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Most notably all of the staff were very friendly and made us feel like family. A big thank you to all of them (Sayong, Nika, Theresa, Aya) well as the owners Cornelius (and his wife) and the dive instructor, Mick (and his Wife).

Here are the highlights of our stay:
1) Our cabin was perfect with a wonderful view from our porch of the ocean.
2) The breakfasts were very good and came with our stay.
3) All of our dinners were very good - no complaints at all. We also enjoyed the special Christmas Eve buffet.
4) Pizza night on Wednesday also had live entertainment (including a few songs from the owner).
5) The pool and hot tub ( although the hot tub was not hot it had a very nice view of the ocean) pwas also nice to have.
6) You also have access to their sister resort (Anda White Beach Resort) which has beach access.
7) The best thing about the Blue Star Dive is the amazing snorkelling just a short walk down the cliff. Everyday I would start my day off with a nice swim to see all the various fishes and other sea creatures. I saw lots of colourful fishes along with a lion fish and a few sea snakes. I was told that their are turtles but unfortunately I did not see any.

1) I did not do any scuba diving - the snorkelling kept me satisfied but next time I will definitely make sure to get my Open Water Certificate with Mick.
2) I had hoped to see a whale shark but it sounds as though they a very rare around Anda.

Overall Blue Star is a wonderful place to stay - I highly recommend it and will definitely stay there again if I am in Bohol again.

Its located on a rock above the sea and has a dive shop. The manager seems to take security as a priority.

Hotel has a pool and nice staff. Rooms are philippine standard. I am not really impressed. The pool area is nice.

The rocky beach is small. So nor suitable for beach holiday.

Food is ok and prices like anywhere else.

Hotel is situated about 6 km from Anda. Tricicle kosts php 100-150 for three ppl.

This restaurant is about 7 KM outside of Anda. It is part of the resort and open for lunch and dinner. Our service was good, one of the entrees, the vegetarian pasta with red sauce was excellent, the other entree, Jambalaya, was basically mostly rice, not very good, with large strips of fried egg on top. Menu is fairly small.
