Hard to fault anything. Easy to find and great location with private parking at the rear. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful - thank you Nicholas for attending to our all our requests and all the advice. Beautiful hotel, room and bathroom with quality toiletries. Breakfast was of a high standard. This hotel is highly recommended!

We stayed at the Hotel Anne d’Anjou on a journey from the UK to Dordogne. We were travelling with our 9 year old Black Labrador and were delighted with our super dog-friendly room! We were,as requested, on the ground floor with immediate access to the garden. Our room was large and well appointed with a super comfortable bed and large bathroom. The small cosy bar was a great place for pre or after dinner drinks (we did both!) and there was a great selection in the buffet breakfast. Everything was fresh and delicious. The hotel is well located for dining out in Saumur. Overall a great place to stay, we thoroughly recommend it and we will be back!

Room tip: You can reserve parking or park on the street outside. This hotel is totally dog-friendly.

A wonderful stay - the staff are so friendly and welcoming and we were travelling with our black Lab dog Toby so they suggested we stay in the ground floor room 401 which opens directly to the garden, which made taking him for walks very easy. The room was large and very comfortable, the buffet breakfast delicious. Parking was easy right across the street from the hotel but they also have a number of bookable secure parking spaces on site. The weather was rain all the time but they had umbrellas for guests. There is a cute bar for pre or post dinner drinks and the local Cremate de Saumur sparking wine was very nice ! We look forward to our next stay when travelling to or from the UK

Room tip: Room 401 on the ground floor is large and ideal when travelling with dogs

What a delightful boutique hotel this is! Loved the interior design - a stylish contemporary twist on the original C18th features. Our room was gorgeous - small but beautifully styled and with a lovely high ceiling. Occitane products in the bathroom were a delight. The staff and 'vibe' of the hotel are highly professional but also friendly and cool in the best way. The breakfast, with the highest standard of products, was absolutely delicious. We had a Chateau view but wouldn't have minded a River or Courtyard view as it's all quite special. Paying €15 for Courtyard parking isn't essential (lots of parking on quayside) but worth it - and very pretty! We love a treat hotel stay and Ann d'Anjou may be one of our most favourites - and at a very competitive price in November. We can't wait to return!

We have stayed there many times and it generally maintains an excellent standard.
One of two points which grate, although others might find it acceptable is the woven plastic flooring in our room (202). I am sure there are hygienic etc. reasons but it is very hard on the feet and no slippers are provided.
Secondly, the provision of a Nespresso coffee pod machine for breakfast downstairs. All the other hotels of this calibre we have stayed in have bean-to-cup machines of one sort or another and provide good coffee. Again on a personal note I find pods revolting and therefore this is a minus factor.

Room tip: We knew the restaurant in the grounds in the old days. It is now called l'Essentiel and there are much cheaper and better restaurants.
