While we travel a lot in France, maybe 15 times in the last 8 years, we don't make a habit of searching our the "best" restaurants where ever we go. Often we accept the recommendation of our Air BnB host. We did so on our first night in Honfluer. It was a decent meal. After a day visiting the Normandy beaches we came home tired and hungry. Not wanting to seek out a good restaurant on our own we decided to try a cute place close to our apartment, L'ENVIE, what a treat. We had the fix prix menu for 27 Euros.
For starts my wife chose the smoked salmon lentil salad while I had the celery risotto with "raw ham", porchetta, both were surprisingly good. For main courses grilled cod and roasted duckling. Another pleasant surprise. After a Normandy cheese plate came desert. My wife had a peach crumble and a pomme tart for me. The carmel sauce that came with the tart was a bit over done but the only thing that disappointed. Well run restaurant, very good service, good bread, important to me. Again our best restaurant experience in France this trip. And we are foodies. Please give them a try. They deserve it.
