Lovely big rooms, clean and light......but TV did not work, coffee machine did not work, air con did not work and the safe did not work. Reported everything to reception on the first morning and the young man who was charming said he would look into it as soon as he was free. apparentky maintenance only work two days a week. TV did work on the second day but nothing else. We had two rooms and had similar problems with the second room, in that room the microwave did not work. Shame such fundamental issues spoilt an otherwise nice stay.

If you are coming from the Eurostar it is a perfect location, however we had driven so over 50 Euros for the parking for 2 nights. Also a bit of a walk into the old town each time so not the best location. Room was as expected, although the bathrooms are a bit prefabricated and bath had a cigarette burn on it. Nespresso machine in the room was a great plus, but they only give you 3 pods a bit annoying when there are 2 of you and only 1 milk - think they could afford to be a bit more generous. Breakfast was fine with a buffet and coffee quite good - only thing would be that they could clear the dirty plates from guests that had left a bit faster - although actually I don't think they had enough staff to manage all that and also the reception - seemed that the staff were run off their feet when we were there

As we like a mug of tea/coffee, we bought 2 mugs for our room, sadly they disappeared from the room after 1 night!!!
Otherwise a very pleasant stay, reception staff were fine, we had no problems and our room got changed quickly when the second bed hadn't been made up as requested
Convenient place to access town and great for travelling on Eurostar as we did

Location is very good, only a ten minute stroll into town, although beware - the town is unfortunately full of beggars, some of them quite aggressive, and we wouldn't recommend walking back to the hotel after around 10pm as the walk back to the hotel from town gets pretty deserted and it is fairly dodgy around Lille Flandres. Having said that, we were fine in the town, great food and lots to see. Rooms in the hotel are fairly functional but good for a couple of nights. We had a standard room and suspect that the executive rooms are better. Luckily we had seen another review and took our own cups for coffee - they only give you paper ones in the room. And only one dressing gown provided although we were two people, plus our safe didn't work. Reception staff were great - can't understand other negative comments about Simon, he couldn't have been more helpful. Station noise is a problem, even on the higher floors.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back may be quieter than those overlooking the station, although back rooms seem to overlook the ring road

I absolutely do not regret our choice for novotel suites.

It's location is perfect. Lille Europe (thalys, tgv and Eurostar) is across the street, Euralille only a five minute walk and Vieux Lille about a 15 minute walk.

The rooms are spacy, clean and neat, perfect for a family of four. We chose the executive suite, but I doubt there's any difference with the other rooms.
The room is equipped with a mini-fridge with complementary sodas, a microwave, waterkettle and nespresso coffeemaker.

Breakfast buffet offers a good continental day-starter.
The lounge is equipped to entertain everyone. There mini tabletennis, a desktop computer, a gametable, a football table and there are many boardgames to chose from.
Don't forget to grab your carambar at reception! This brought back childhood memories.

There's a gym on the second floor and an ironing room on the third. Unfortunately the iron is outdated.

Staff is genuinely friendly, very nice young people. My compliments!

Wi-Fi in the lounge is excellent, but we found poor signal strength in our rooms, save for next to the door.
This wasn't the end of the world.

Another minus is the price of drinks at the bar. €4.50 for a soft drink is pricey. Then again hotel bars are never cheap.

They also sell TV dinners you can heat up in the microwave for € 10. I found that a bit exaggerated too. It's processed food after all.

Nearest supermarket is Carrefour in Euralille.

Would definitely go again!
