We stopped here for supper on our first night as we were tired and it was near our hotel. What a mistake. The menu was relatively pricey, so we opted for the buffet at 17euro each. We tried many dishes but they were all terrible. Spring rolls filled with something (no idea what), beef samosas filled with ?meat (NOT beef), and deep fried prawns where the batter was thicker than the prawn. Disgusting - we filled up on lychees from the dessert options, paid and left. NEVER again.

This place was just opposite our hotel so we decided to pop in one evening. Buffet was priced at a reasonable 16.90 euros and there was a decent selection of starters, mains and dessert. There is also a fresh food section where there was raw beef, chicken, prawns and shrimps which you could get cooked to your liking by the chef.

The buffet evening meal at 16.90 euros is top notch, a fantastic selection of eatables, it had every nice thing I could have wanted and I ate there twice. The takeaway menu is very limited and there is no set 3 course menu for takeaways like other places have but the buffet is wonderful. Very pleasant staff too.

Used Lille as a base for a Battlefield trip, having visited many parts of France. Did some research to vary meals and checked this place out near the Railway Station. Previous reviews criticised the place but to be honest me and my friends had a great experience. Once the waitress explained the Buffet procedure, we tucked in. There is a large 'Island' with on the left side some pre cooked dishes of beef and also chicken. At the rear was an excellent soup. You could also select different noodles, rices etc. Really enjoying the meal when the waitress pointed out the fresh selection which we had overlooked. Basically there were strips of beef, chicken, prawns and king prawns with a selection of vegetables. We then realised we could select what we wanted take it to the chef to cook and the waitress delivered it to the table. Really impressed the food was very good. The drinks were also reasonable. Having had steaks most nights this was a nice change and was very filling, good quality.

This was our first time to Lille, we came for the magical Christmas market. My wife let me organise this trip for the first time ever so the pressure was on. Firstly this was the first time we had used the euro star which we was very impressed with, 1 star to me lol.

Secondly we stayed at the Novotel Hotel, was one of the best receptions we have ever had when arriving, the staff were brilliant, room was brilliant, 2 stars to me. Sorry for the waffling but I'm just setting the story.

Our first night my wife said as I had done so well so far I could pick where to eat, I had spotted this restaurant on our way to hotel. I thought I would be in for my 3rd star here, we arrived at the place and the decor was nice. The service wasn't brilliant but we just put that down to the language barrier, we couldn't really see the buffet from where we was sat ( probably for this reason) so wasn't sure what it was like but we chose this option over ordering from the menu. We had ordered our drinks and received our prawn crackers. We went up with our plates and was speechless and not with joy. The quality didn't look good. I could see my 2 stars already gained slowly slipping away well actually very quickly lol. Most of the trays were drying out hardly any meat or veg just sauce and the rice just looked like one big grain. As we had already started we just carried on hoping for the best, the best never came it just got worse. Every dish there seemed to just contain pork with maybe 1 chicken dish. We ate as much as could, the ice cream at the end was probably the best part. We felt that the food had probably been sat the since they oped at half 6 and as it was around 8 at this time you can imagine what it looked like.

I thought I had seriously lost my 2 stars and was now in negative figures but your be glad to hear she let me off and we enjoyed the rest of our break. For other visitors reading this try the hippo restaurant near the main spare brilliant defo gain you stars.
